  • Family-friendly campsite with direct access to a Cardigan Bay beach
  • A 15-minute drive from Aberaeron and 20 minutes from Aberystwyth
  • Play ground and sea fishing; Llanrhystud shops five minutes’ drive
When a campsite’s been open since 1928, you know it’s got a lot going for it. And that’s certainly the case at Morfa Farm Holiday Park, five minutes’ drive from the village of Llanrhystud in Ceredigion. For starters, the pitches sit directly on the foreshore in Cardigan Bay, with ‘walk-on’ access to the gentle sloping beach. Secondly, it’s a welcoming, friendly and family-run place, which always keeps guests coming back. Thirdly, it’s got a whole bunch of modern amenities to make your holidays as easy as the sea breeze. Those amenities include a pristine shower block that also incorporates a laundry and dish-washing room, plus a couple of snack machines to keep hunger pangs at bay. There’s a service station with chemical and grey waste disposal and a water tap, and two EV charging points for electric cars. Calor gas bottles can be supplied on site, and a well-stocked garage and local stores in Llanrhystud to keep you topped up with supplies. If you need anything else, please just ask at reception for help. There’s plenty to do on site, with a small play park for the kids. Families can also go rock pooling and barbecuing on the beach at low tide, and fishing on the River Wyre, which forms a natural boundary with the holiday park. There are plenty of places to visit nearby, with Aberaeron a 15-minute drive south of the site and Aberystwyth a 20-minute drive north. Leave the car behind if you wish; bus connections are within 10 minutes' walk of the site.

What customers say

Highly recommended coastal site with beach access & amazing sunsets. Spotless, modern washrooms. Friendly, helpful staff. Peaceful & well-kept. Mostly pebble beach, but still a great stay. Limited phone signal & close pitches noted.

Liked Location; Stoney beach front on site, which we enjoyed a couple times daily. Park on site which the children throughly enjoyed and also it stated on the site map&info that a new park is pending (2026) so can’t wait to come back and for the kids to enjoy that one too! A separate football area too with football nets, and in the field next to this were cows which we enjoyed having a walk to see.

Dog friendly; Dog friendly, people on site all followed the signage that dogs were to remain on their leads and bins were provided around the park for dog specific waste. People did respect the site and rules.

Low noise; never had any issues with noise on the site, we were located next to reception, shower block/toilets and laundry room and couldn’t fault it.

Shower/Toilet block/Laundry/Bins; I can’t comment on the shower/toilets or laundry room as I didn’t physically enter. However, as I was close by and often walked by I can say they were used by others frequently and I never heard any bad comments. From an outside perspective they looked clean and well respected and I know they get closed during the day for deep cleans. I also did like, although I didn’t use that the laundry space had a coffee and snack vending machine in. The bins also weren’t a far walk and well signed to find them, plenty of bins all stating their purpose- cardboard/cans etc…

Owners; Reception closed when we arrived but wasn’t an issue, we were told where to be greeted by somebody to check in and the lady who I also met again when checking out was lovely, very polite and very helpful. Also supporting us to pencil in dates for next year on leaving as we throughly enjoyed our short stay.

Our caravan; We stayed in a caravan and it was lovely. The set out great, felt really cosy with added touches such as; cushions and a throw on the settee. The first caravan we have stayed in with a full size fridge and freezer. Rather than just an under counter fridge with a small freezer compartment. So definitely helpful had we have stayed longer as can plan and shop for the time you’re there as the space is provided. As well as the numerous cupboard space. Utensils and cookery all provided, clean and wasn’t anything additionally we required. Beds comfy, we supplied our own bedding which wasn’t an issue and also bedroom plug sockets also had usb ports too at either side of the bed which is handy. Can’t fault the caravan or the lay out. Also we liked that there was an hoover, the caravans we have stayed in, in the past or at sites such as haven provide a sweeping brush, mop&bucket and a dust pan and brush but never an hoover. With children it’s self explanatory, and we’re also the kind of people that will clean before we leave so the fact I could hoover before leaving was nice. The tv’s had Netflix on (for those with accounts) and YouTube. Not many channels on but we were able to connect to our phones in an evening or morning to watch programmes we liked which was never an issue. On site map&info it did state wifi pending (2026). Although was never an issue for us.

Disliked That we didn’t book longer!!! On a serious note, we throughly enjoyed our stay. Therefore can’t comment on any dislikes. We enjoyed it so much we have pencilled dates in for next year, in hopes we can enjoy it again!

FHU cement/asphalt travel trailer campsite (sea view)

Liked The pitch we stayed on had a sea view and was a short walk to the beach. There is lots to see and do within a half hour drive which was lovely. It was a very will kept campsite but rather larger than our usual type of site. Also, there is no signal on the site but you can get 5g on the beach so not too bad.

Disliked The showers, whilst fairly new and modern, were all overhead rainfall showers which are very high up. As two women who do not like to get our hair wet every time, we found that by the time the water reaches you, the temperature is at best, tepid. This also means that on hair wash days, it takes ages to rinse the shampoo and conditioner out. Why do campsites do this? I can only imagine that these blocks are designed by men who are taller and don't mind their hair getting wet every time.

Local attractions

Outdoors fanatics will find plenty to keep them on their toes hereabouts; Borth (40 minutes’ drive) and New Quay beaches (half an hour) have facilities for all sorts of watersports. However, you don’t even need to leave the park to try out kayaking, windsurfing and paddleboarding from the beach, and there’s a slipway for anyone keen to get out on the waves for a spot of sea fishing for bass, mackerel and lobster. Mountain bikers and walkers can test their fitness on forest trails at Bwlch Nant yr Arian Forest Visitor Centre (35 minutes), and long-distance hikers can follow the Wales Coast Path, which runs alongside the holiday park. Other mountain-biking trails can be tracked down at Brechfa Forest (an hour) or the Hafod Trails Bike Park (50 minutes). You could also sneak a bit of culture into your holiday itinerary, with a visit to the stately John Nash-built mansion at National Trust-owned Llanerchaeron (20 minutes). The National Wool Museum (45 minutes) is another good bet; housed in a converted woollen mill, interactive displays showcase the importance of the former Welsh textile industry, and there’s a shop where you can pick up beautifully crafted Welsh wool blankets and shawls.
