Sitting between the seaside towns of Aberaeron and New Quay, Moody Meadows is a family-run site 10 minutes’ drive from spectacular Cardigan Bay in Ceredigion. And not only is it family-run, it’s also very family-friendly, with a whole host of facilities to make life easy on site. These include a farm shop for topping up on supplies, a licensed bistro for those days when you can’t be bothered to spark up the barbecue and a play barn to keep kids safely occupied. The level, tree-lined pitches are all fully serviced with a lawned area for sitting out. Thoughtful additions in the shower block (it has disabled facilities) include hair dryers and a laundrette, and should you be bringing dogs with you, there’s also a dedicated dog wash area for cleaning muddy paws. With easy access off the A487, this quiet site is a convenient base for exploring Ceredigion, its beaches, historic sites and wildlife – watch out for red kites inland and dolphins in Cardigan Bay. A footpath leads from the site to the village of Llwyncelyn (10 minutes’ stroll), and a short walk from there takes you onto the scenic Wales Coast Path… You won’t need a car to explore the area, but a good pair of walking boots is essential.

Liked fabulous site with large adult only pitch with hot tub .. on site bistro and bar with great food at reasonable prices. Farm shop sells delicious pasties and scotch eggs and local produce.

Liked Liked everything!! This site has clearly had a lot of time and money invested in to it to make it a great place to stay for the whole family,(including the dogs).

The facilities are fantastic, onsite shop and pub / restaurant all great. The staff are very helpful and welcoming.

Unfortunately the jacuzzi pods were all booked when I stayed, they are definitely a little something extra special to add to the trip, if you are lucky enough to book one. Oh well means I will have to visit again :)

The pitch we had was electric, gravel with grass patch to the side in adults only area, it was very spacious well maintained. A nice quiet spot, with beautiful surroundings.

Disliked Nothing at all, everything was just perfect.

Liked Excellent site clean well maintained lovely staff very helpful.
Pitch had added bonus of own water tap plus grey waste drainage.
Very reasonable pricing.
Shop well stocked
Didn't use the bar or restaurant but it looked very inviting.
Plenty of things for the children has a play barn not sure if you pay extra
Surprisingly peaceful.
Bus stop to Newquay or Aberystwyth available
Will definitely visit again soon

Liked Loved the setting, the Moody Cow for food & drinks, the lake, the facilities, the location everything. Wished we could have stayed longer than just 2 nights. Staff were really friendly & helpful. Would definitely stay again but next time try to get a hot tub as they were all booked out for our time there.

Disliked Pitch 66 that we were on didn't really have a very good view so would have preferred a prettier pitch & the hard standing was very hard to get any tent pegs in needed a lump hammer not just a rubber mallet.

Take forays along the Wales Coast Path (direct access from the site), or pack a picnic and march the family down to sand-and-shingle Cei Bach Beach (50 minutes’ stroll/10 minutes’ drive) to see if you can spot dolphins playing in the waves. If the kids catch the wildlife bug, take them to see the birds of prey and butterfly house at the National Botanic Garden of Wales (55 minutes’ drive), where they can also encounter giant animal sculptures on lakeside walks. Learn more about the history of this corner of Ceredigion with a visit to the National Wool Museum (25 minutes), housed in an historic mill packed with original spinning looms; there are entertaining craft workshops for families. Fans of the combustion engine can see 19th-century machines in motion at The Internal Fire Museum of Power (20 minutes), giving an insight into the development of steam power. Staying with the heritage theme, tour the handsome John Nash-designed villa and lakeside gardens at National Trust - Llanerchaeron (10 minutes). If your offspring need an antidote to all that history, the crescent-shaped sandy beach at New Quay (10 minutes’ drive) has rock pools for crabbing and is backed by ice cream stalls and cafés.
