Loch Katrine

  • Hardstanding motorhome pitches in the Trossachs Pier car park
  • On the banks of Loch Katrine with direct access to the Trossachs Trail
  • Next to a café and departure point for loch cruises
Somewhere scenic to park your motorhome in Stirlingshire? Take a look at the touring pitches at Trossachs Pier – this location is in a fabulous spot right on the banks of Loch Katrine and in one of the UK’s largest National Nature Reserves, the Great Trossachs Forest. Technically speaking, these pitches are in the pier’s car park, but there’s rather more to it than that, as you’ll have access to toilets and showers (for an extra charge), wifi and a café serving up breakfasts, lunches, hot drinks and the like. There’s also bike hire in the car park, and it’s the departure point for various passenger cruises. Boat trips run regularly through the day but the top pick for many visitors is a ride on the Sir Walter Scott steamship, which has sailed on the loch since 1900. Once you’ve explored the loch thoroughly, don’t plan to move on too quickly – this site is located on the 40-mile Trossachs Trail for walks and bike rides, and there’s plenty more to see and do around the Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park, whether you’re planning to bag a few Munros, go fishing, play golf or explore some of the area’s history.

Power optional cement/asphalt RV campsite (large)

Liked Very well organised and lots of space, extremely quiet, I expected a car park to be noisier. Excellent space to get boat trip. I didn’t use showers but was given code and they looked very clean when I walked past

Disliked Nothing to dislike.

Power optional cement/asphalt RV campsite

Liked Smashing place, easy to get to and right near lake, cafe, and toilets good. Lovely walks and viewing tower.

Disliked I paid £10 extra for shower, but automatic lock was broken, so others were using it for free. Due there only being 1 shower Both mornings had to wait to use as i say others got a freebie!!!.
Midges were rife, be aware..
No safety barrier, had people coming on site at all hrs..

Primitive cement/asphalt RV campsite

Liked We were absolutely disappointed with the directions, totally inappropriate.
We had a disrupted journey (our problem) notified the gentleman who dealt with us. Who assured us we would find pitch 3 without any problems.
This was not the case, in a nutshell we couldn’t find any signage relevant to our site or pitch. We gave up at 10.00 pm in respect of guests/ residents in other accommodation.
What 3 words was useless & kept giving us differing routes. We were warned about post code being vague. Telephone communication was non existent.
High expectations were shattered.
We then drove through the night to alternate accommodation.
In our opinion there is a serious issue here, what we saw was delightful, but we didn’t know if we were in the correct area.

Disliked Don’t know we didn’t get there.
