Primitive grass tent campsite (small)
Liked Beautiful location and grass area very well kept. Lovely river at the end of the site.
Great shop and fish and chip place down the road.
Able to park car next to the tent.
Friendly owners.
From the manager: Great to meet you and glad you enjoyed your stay
A great place to stay
Powered grass RV campsite
Liked The owners are helpful and can't do enough for you. The grounds are perfect with lots of room and very well kept. As for the facilities, they are a bit older but in great condition, well kept and very clean. The scenery is wonderful, gentle rolling river, lots of wild life and peaceful. My wife and I will make this site a regular stop and are looking forward to going back several times in the future.
Disliked Nothing
From the manager: Many thanks for your lovely review i, which is in stark contrast to our previous vitriolic review , and is most welcome.
It was great meeting you both and we look forward to seeing you again.
Dont be deceived by the pictures of the site. It’s awful. Dirty.

Liked The view of the river and the local made pies at the small shop next door
Disliked Everything else. The site is NOT worth £35 a night! It’s dirty and dilapidated. The hosts T’s&C’s state you’re not allowed to complain after you have left! Everything must be dealt with when on site.
There were a load of dirty cheap white plastic chairs scattered along the riverbank and the shell of a slide for when kids were probably allowed. (Now no kids or dogs!) just a whole load of poor NC500 folk by the looks of things.
The loos need ripping down and rebuilding. The washing up area was right next to the toilet area on both men’s and womens sides. There was one shower for women and that was just creepy. My husband said the men’s was open at both ends of the door and the power and lighting was outside so anyone could have turned it off when you were in there.
From the manager: Wow , not ever received such a vitriolic review. I ask people reading this review to take in context with the our other reviews. I am not going to respond any further than to say we get many comments about clean the facilities are .
Excellent location, friendly staff and choice of pitch.
Primitive grass travel trailer campsite
Liked Fantastic, peaceful location right on the river with a choice of pitch. Staff were really friendly and helpful. The shop at the entrance was also very handy.
Disliked Facilities were quite basic but wouldn’t put us off staying there again.
From the manager: Thanks for your review

It was a real pleasure meeting you both , very good humoured and positive.
Beautiful, clean site.
Powered grass RV campsite
Liked Beautiful sight with a stunning set up! The owners very much look after the pitches and it shows. A proper homely feel.
Coffee in the morning ready made was the perfect touch!
Disliked Ladies shower was cold and the room very small, ended up changing in the toilets after running round in a towel. Whereas men's was a nice hot shower.
From the manager: Thanks for your review.
I would dispute the statement saying shower was cold , all I can presume is you did not set the dials correctly , if this is really the case we would be having complaints everyday and this is the first time anybody has said the shower was cold.
Excellent location and friendly hosts

Liked Lovely little campsite! We drove down from Inchnadamph area after a long day on mountains in bad weather and Martyn was very accommodating for us getting there quite late. He welcomed us at the gate, asked if we’d eaten and recommended the chippy a 5 minute walk down the road, which was just what we needed! He walked down and showed us where everything was and where we could pitch up.
The site is right by a lovely river and was just the right amount of busy. There are lots of amenities nearby which was welcomed after some wild camping and remote stays recently. There is lots of attractions nearby so plenty to do!
The showers are warm and there is plenty of space to do the washing up. A lovely stay and would recommend!
From the manager: It was great meeting you both and many thanks for your review.
