A little piece of pod heaven in the Scottish Highlands: say aye. Camping Pod Heaven is in the village of Abriachan, 12 miles from Inverness, above Loch Ness and with plenty of local walking trails to wander from one's poddy base. And its scenery and setting are pretty heavenly too: have you seen the site pics...? All the pods here are big enough to comfortably fit four adults and come with mattresses, an electric socket, heating and a private entrance. Wifi is available on site. Around the site, podders will find barbecues, covered picnic tables and seating area, and a firepit with more seating. The bathroom is shared and is a short distance from the pods.

Camping pod

Liked Visited here with my 7 year old son to see Nessie. Was perfect for what we wanted and amazing value. This is a lovely site situated in a quiet woodland tucked away from the tourist trail. It is close to Abriachan Forest Trust forest school which was amazing for my son to explore and use their naturalplay play park!

The team running the pod site were lovely, as was an adorable collie who loved my son. The facilities were great; showers were warm and clean, bathroom was well lit and welcoming. The pod was clean and setting of site was well thought out; something you don’t often see on other sites. There was also excellent recycling facilities on site which is sadly not always the case at other campsites we have visited.

The pod included an electric heater, and there was access to a kettle; at the washing station. We usually tent camp so brought our own gear and stoves, so I appreciated basic internal setup of the pods. We hope to be back with the rest of the family as part of a longer tour further north soon.

Disliked There is no shared kitchen in the building, as is usually the case at campsites, only a sink and a kettle outside.Can’t heating food . Fridge for keeping food on the small corridor to the toilet .

Liked The site is beautiful and so peaceful. The pod was a good size fitted 3 of us and all our gear in easily. Best campsite showers and toilets I've ever been in, really clean and spacious, pot washing facilities avalible too. Clear instructions before our arrival and no problems finding our cabin and getting settled in. Good base for adventures around loch ness.Will be visiting again and recommending to our friends!

Liked Beautiful location in the forest
Pod was clean
The owners had provided toiletries, spare towels and washing up supplies and extra mugs- so much more than you would expect.

Disliked There was an issue in one of the ladies’ showers which did not smell pleasant- hopefully this can be sorted quickly .

Liked Location, warmth inside the pod, convenient facilities (clean and warm showers and toilets), well equipped fire place, nice swing.

If you've come to these parts to walk, hike, bike or mountain bike, you're in luck: loads of trails are in the countryside surrounding Camping Pod Heaven and the site is a handy stopover for those doing the walk, cycle and canoe route the Great Glen Way. Lovely Loch Ness is a five-minute drive away for boat trips and monster spotting; another six miles will take you to Urquhart Castle in Drumnadrochit, the 16th-century castle overlooking Loch Ness and now with Loch Ness Monster exhibitions. More famed Scottish history is at Inverness Castle within a 25-minute drive and at Culloden battlefield 18 miles away. Other options include an evening at Eden Court Theatre, 25 minutes away, or a day at the Nevis Range Mountain Resort or Cairngorm Mountain Resort about an hour away in each direction, to tackle the likes of snowy sports, mountain biking and high ropes.
