Park at your tent

  • Farm site in the countryside a mile from Armagh city centre
  • Navan Centre and Loughgall Country Park within a 10-minute drive
  • On the banks of the Callan River for trout fishing
Town day or rural day – which one do you fancy today? You can pick and choose as you go when you’re staying at Little Acres Camping, in the Co. Armagh countryside two miles from Armagh’s centre (and with some great views over to the spires of the city’s two cathedrals). When those views put you in the mood for the former, it’s a five-minute drive or half-hour walk to get to the city streets for visits to those cathedrals, the museums and the planetarium/observatory. And of course that proximity means that it’s easy to get out for an evening in the pub, something to eat or to source supplies to chuck on your barbecue back at base. And when you’d rather stick to the rural side of things? There are plenty of places to get out for walks and bike rides nearby, plus activities like horse riding and fishing in local lakes (although you could also stick around on site for that – rather handily, Little Acres Camping is on the banks of the Callan River, which is renowned for its trout fishing). Back at base, the essential facilities are covered: guests have access to toilets and a washing-up area, and staff can organise pick-ups from town if you’re arriving by public transport.

FHU grass and gravel travel trailer campsite

Liked Beautiful location with lots of space and a very peaceful atmosphere. My pitch (A1) felt almost like a private spot for my European camper, with everything positioned perfectly to enjoy a quiet and comfortable evening. The toilets and showers were spotless – several toilets and two very clean showers available. Having my own electric hook-up was very convenient, and the addition of a picnic table was a big plus. There’s also plenty of play equipment for children, making it family-friendly as well.

Disliked If I had to mention a downside, it would be the lack of WiFi. However, there is a strong 5G signal on site, so I could easily use my own router without any issues.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked Lovely campsite with great pitch spaces. Peaceful and safe and great for kids (even though I didn’t have any with me). Lovely walk into Armagh city

Disliked Facilities very basic but everything necessary was available and as this is a new campsite I’m sure this will improve

FHU grass and gravel travel trailer campsite

Liked Liked? Everything!
The owners were so pleasant and very welcoming and helpful. The site was lovely, awesome play park perfectly located (best onsite park we have been at for our 2 year old), great communal sheltered area and kitchen provided. Little acres was lovely well kept and just perfect.

Disliked The only thing we could say and we stress so much little acres was awesome and we look forward to going back again soon, is the toilets and showers was unisex. The shower has it's on changing areas so privacy is kept but going to a crucial and using facilities would be much better if separated.

Liked We were tenting with electric hook-up. We r new to camping but had a gr8 time here. Gr8 facilities, kitchen area, hot water, fridge, kettle...
Joanne was very attentive & free to contact her if we had any issues.
This is quite a small, family run campsite with personal feels. Notice board with useful numbers & local eating options.

FHU grass and gravel travel trailer campsite

Liked This place is a hidden gem ⭐ We’re just back from our first trip in our new caravan and I honestly couldn’t recommend this place enough! We all had a ball, the kids (girl 6 & boy 4) had the best time and made new friends within 5 mins!! It’s a compact site which is perfect for giving the kids independence but always able to keep an eye on them.

The hosts are lovely, very accommodating! The pitch’s are a good size with water and electricity. The showers & toilets are excellent with plenty of soups, toilet rolls and shower gels. The kitchen facility is perfect for doing your dishes with a large fridge freezer, there is plenty of fairy liquid & scrubbers etc.

There is also the most luxurious porta loo!!

It is a mix of tents, caravans & motorhomes with people from all around the world. It’s only a stones throw from Armagh if you need a trip out, order takeaway or any shopping.

A brilliant weekend and we’ll definitely be back.

Disliked Maybe because it was my first time towing but the final mile of the journey up to the venue was a bit nervy as the road in quite compact, although had no issues!

Local attractions

Start with a stroll into Armagh to see its two cathedrals (both called St Patrick’s – don’t get confused…), visit the Armagh County Museum and Armagh Gaol and see what’s on at the Market Place Theatre & Arts Centre. The Armagh Astronomy Centre and Planetarium is worth a visit too, to see the light displays of star constellations and let kids dress up and make their own rockets. A little way out of town (10 minutes’ drive from the site) is Navan Centre & Fort, an archaeological site where costumed characters bring the Celtic legends to life on guided tours. Things are rather more refined at Ardress House and The Agrory, a pair of smart stately homes about 15 minutes’ drive away. If it’s outdoor activities on the schedule, head out for walks in Loughgall Country Park (10 minutes) and Gosford Forest Park (20 minutes) or a stroll by the water at Craigavon Lake (half an hour). There’s a golf course at Loughgall as well, or you could take a tour of the orchards at Armagh Cider Company (15 minutes) for a taste of what’s known as ‘the orchard county’.
