  • Within 25 minutes' drive of Weston-super-Mare
  • Fishing lake and play area on site
Picky about how close you stay to the beach? Well, Unity Beach in Somerset is just a couple of minutes' walk away from the beach in Brean, and it's not the only pick in the locale: Burnham-on-Sea beach is a 15-minute drive away, and Weston Super Mare beach is 25 minutes away. On the park, there are bathrooms (with loos, hot showers and underfloor heating), a play area and a fishing lake, as well as direct access to Brean Leisure Park. Guests at Unity Beach get a 50% discount on all of the following leisure park locations: the mammoth Brean Splash waterpark (open during high season only) with indoor and outdoor splash zones, flumes and waterslides; the Brean Play indoor play centre with areas for babies, toddlers and kids up to 11; and Brean Golf Club with 18 holes set around 100 acres of meadow. Guests also get discounted tokens/wristbands for Brean Theme Park's rides and amusements. Once your appetite has been properly worked up with all of those activities, sink down in a seat at one of the several on-park restaurants, snack bars or cafés serving cooked breakfasts, steak, ribs, pizza, kids' meals, takeaways or ice cream during high season – and you might very much like the sound of cocktails served in a fish bowl at American-themed diner RJs…

Liked The outdoor and indoor swimming pools are so attractive!

Disliked When booking online, it said Wi-Fi was free, but at the campsite, we couldn’t access the Wi-Fi. When we asked the staff, they said there was a fee. This is the first time we’ve encountered this when going camping!

Grove Field powered grass campsite

Liked Loved the site, so much to do for kids. Handy supermarket on site. Really close to the beach. 20 minutes into weston too. Swimming was free with the passes. We didn't have to que but we went at half 9. Must say staff were extremely helpful. Especially Jerry, thank you for letting me use your phone when i lost my partner 🤣. Toilets were okay, never qued for showers or toilets. Kids did mess up the toilet sinks on occasions but can't blame the site (blame the parents of feral children) , they were cleaned up quickly.

Disliked We camped so were a little far away from swimming and activities but we did rent a go cart for two of the days. Thats the only negative i could find to be honest.

Grove Field powered grass campsite

Liked Location near the beach is amazing! The theme park and swimming pool is really good for little ones but lido if absolutely FREEZING!!!!

Disliked What let the place down for me was the sheer poor state of the toilet blocks. The smell was awful and never smelt clean. The toilets were absolutely filthy to the point my Husband couldn’t go to the toilet in the men’s due to faeces being smeared up the cubicles. In the women’s shower block was always a male cleaner and men’s shower block was always women which was a little bit uncomfortable when showering.

The worst part for us and this is what made us say we will never return to Unity Beach was the sheer irresponsible adults driving cars through the site at 30mph when families are walking with babies and small children!! It is not safe to allow children to out playing at such a young age!! Children on electric scooters almost crashing into cars and golf buggies on blind bends!! I couldn’t wait to get off the site due to the uneasy feeling of someone possibly being hurt.

Grove Field powered grass campsite

Liked Facilities were great!
Enough room and space never waited for a shower or to be able to wash up! Toilet block not too far from tent
Loved having a tap with drinking water right behind the tent.
The waterpark was free to get into which was a brilliant suprise considering nothings free lately!

Disliked The shower rooms could do with aircon or maybe just a few more windows as it was steamy in there.

The queue for the waterpark Is understandable but a separate queue to get into the swimming pool area could do with changing as it was 35 degrees when I went and it was too hot to wait I just wanted to jump in!

Liked Was pleasantly surprised by the upgrade of the complex . There was a lot more things for children to do that’s included in the stay. The staff were always helpful and pleasant.

Disliked The touring field was a lot further away from all the main attractions.

Local attractions

If you do decide to venture off site (no-one would blame you for a second if you didn't), the best sights of Somerset are within a quick drive. Gorge out on the views of Cheddar Gorge and Caves ten miles away – it's not at all cheesy to state these are among the best in Britain – and take the kids to meet the witch of Wookey Hole Caves within 15 miles, both among the most-visited attractions in the county. Glastonbury is also rather gorgeous and has been visited for aeons by peeps interested in legend and history who come to have a look at Glastonbury Abbey, steeped in stories of King Arthur, and Glastonbury Tor, possibly (you might like to think so anyway) the entrance to the land of the fairies. Learn all about the legends and the Iron Age history of the town at the Glastonbury Lake Village Museum in the fifteenth century merchant's house on Glastonbury High Street; the tourist information centre is here too to see what else to spy nearby. Seasidewise, take a day each at Brean, Burnham-on-Sea and Weston-super-Mare: the first for the tropical bird garden on Brean Down and the dunes running seven miles to Burnham; the second to look at the lighthouses and stroll off into the Somerset Levels, and the third for its whirly good helicopter museum and Grand Pier. Inland, land at teeny city Wells for a day sightseeing around its cathedral and stonkingly spectacular medieval bishop's palace, moat and gardens, or have a day among the hiking trails and bridleways of Exmoor.
