  • Family campsite on a Dorset farm 15 minutes’ drive from Weymouth
  • Abbotsbury Swannery 15 minutes’ drive; Monkey World 35 minutes
  • Games field, play area and outdoor pool on site
You couldn’t get a more family-friendly site than West Fleet Holiday Farm. At 15 minutes’ drive from Weymouth in Dorset, there’s masses of space to run around, a three-acre play area with swings and slides, and an outdoor swimming pool with glimpses of the sea. There are plenty of helpful facilities on site, including a shop and off-licence carrying all the essentials, as well as showers, washing-up points and a launderette. The site is set in 15 acres of countryside on the Jurassic Coast, within walking distance of Fleet Lagoon (the setting for John Meade Falkner’s smuggling tale ‘Moonfleet’, half an hour’s stroll) and Chesil Beach (about 40 minutes). You can also ramble down to the South West Coast Path along the private farm track (20 minutes) or walk to the local pub in around the same time. Weymouth, its harbour and sandy beaches (15 minutes’ drive) provide excellent family days out and the site is a handy base for exploring family attractions throughout Dorset, like Lyme Regis and Charmouth (both 40 minutes). In keeping with this being a family-centric site, please keep noise to an absolute minimum between 10.30pm and 8am so everyone can get some shut eye.

What customers say

A clean, friendly site with great facilities. The shop's well-stocked, clubhouse serves decent food, and the pool is a popular draw, though access can be restricted. Some note sloping pitches and limited pool hours; others wish for better accessibility.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked When we arrived, we upgraded from a standard tent pitch to electric, which was no problem at all for the friendly, welcoming staff. The play area is great for the kids. Clubhouse had so much entertainment for all ages, I.e Bingo & disco. The food was great and purchasing WiFi when needed was simple.
The swimming pool was simple to book. Only 30 minute time slots but you can rebook for a later time. The pitch sizes were huge and ground was clean and flat toilets and showers were very clean. Everyone respected the noise curfew which is great when you have young children.

Disliked The food, especially the kid's meals, were overpriced in my opinion.

Powered grass travel trailer campsite

Liked Lovely site, children all out playing, feels very safe and secure. Lots of rules but we liked this as it was perfect for a little family. Lovely clean site and with outdoor pool. Nice park and horses around to see.

Disliked Food in bar wasn’t great and felt expensive for what we got.
One lady in the shop who seemed to be in charge, was very off putting and unapproachable, telling my children off for looking and touching toys in shop.

Powered grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked Nice large pitch, swimming pool is good, shop has everything you need, good clean showers.

Disliked Maybe a suggestion maybe open the other gate and have a one way system around the park.

From the manager: Hi,
We're pleased you enjoyed your stay, and thank you for the kind words about our site!
We did have the other gate open more frequently in the past. However, some drivers came through that gateway at speed. We found this to be too dangerous for families with small children, who often wander. We found that our current system reduces the speeds around the site, making the site safer.
That said, we're currently looking at times that we can open the gate (especially when we have lots of departures), to make camp life more fluid for customers.
Thank you for the feedback, and hope to see you again!

Powered grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked We had the best week here, not too busy which was surprising with it being summer holidays and coming up to bank holiday! Always had spaces for the swimming pool which was always clean. The toilets and showers were also clean. We also took advantage of the family bathrooms which was really handy with a bath when I was on my own with the kids as we could all go in together. Pitches were large and loved how they were all along the sides and space in the middle for kids to play.
Clubhouse was ok… kids disco and then bingo which my 6 year old could take part in too which was a bonus.
As much as it says about quiet time being 10.30 everyone respected it we had a lovely week

Powered grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked Spacious pitches, plenty of toilets & showers which were always spotless. Well stocked onsite shop. Free swimming pool which is good size and depth for children. Kids entertainment was good, drinks at the bar reasonably priced. Guests spread across the various fields so didn’t feel too ‘full’. Rules were respected by all guests, and was a calm and peaceful site where the kids could have tons of fun, and the adults could relax knowing they are safe and happy.

Disliked Pitches that face away from the sea catch all of the wind. On very windy days & nights, it is a lot! It would be good for the staff to give a heads up and suggest pitching the tent opening to the side rather than facing the wind. The chilli in the onsite restaurant didn’t taste of anything at all, and had to be sent back and replaced with something else.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked This was a really nice site. The kids loved the pool and entertainment. Staff were all very friendly and made us feel welcomed. Pitches were very well marked out and a good size. Facilities were good and we enjoyed seeing the horses.

Disliked Could do with somewhere for adults to sit by the park and due to lack of reception, 30 minutes of free WiFi per day would make the site amazing.
