  • Family-run site a mile from the Jurassic Coast
  • Footpath leading to the South West Coast Path
  • Shop next door and pubs within walking distance
Guests return season after season to serene Osmington Mills Corner Campsite in its Dorset coast setting just outside the village of Osmington: it's been family run for over 60 years and has Dorset site stays down pat. Spacious pitches, room for kids to run around, and scenic views towards Weymouth four miles away are the secrets of its success, along with a peaceful rural vibe, restaurants nearby, and the site's closeness to the sea, a mile from the beaches of the Jurassic Coast. You can easily access the region's spectacular walks from here too, as a footpath leads from the site to the coast to connect with the South West Coast Path. (Or if that's a no thanks to the walk, a bus stop is just outside the site with services running to Weymouth.) Osmington has toilets, showers, a washing-up area and the means for ice pack freezing and gadget charging. A shop is next door to the site, and pubs and restaurants are within walking distance.

What customers say

A relaxed, budget-friendly campsite in a beautiful rural setting near Weymouth and the coast. Friendly owners, spacious, choose-your-own pitches. Basic, clean facilities. Road noise and shower pressure are minor issues. Great value for a no-frills getaway, many plan to return.

Primitive grass campervan, tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked The couple that owned the campsite were always visible, extremely helpful, and had great knowledge of the local area. They made us as a family feel very welcome. Fantastic family environment, and our children running around making friends. Stunning views from everywhere on site of surrounding countryside. Well signposted and easy to find reception to book in. We really liked that as roof tent users we could choose a different pitch every night if we wished, and this flexibility made it feel like we were really in control of our holiday. Would definitely stay again, and recommend to all! A great coastal local bus stop route a 1 minute walk from the campsite entrance. A great overall location close to the coast and Weymouth.

Disliked Shower facilities were a little basic, and both showers and toilets were in need of updating. The most annoying point was no hot water for washing up, had to use hot shower water.

Primitive grass campervan, tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked Toilets and showers cleaned throughout the day, the site wardens were excellent at keeping some campers and children in check.

Disliked The shower was free and warm but flow was slow. The wash up sinks had no hot water and there are only 3, there was only 1 freshwater tal

From the manager: Thanks for you're comments ,unfortunately we have to compromise with hot water for washing up ,maintaining enough hot water for the showers .In actual fact all 4 outside taps are drinking Water, although the sign is directly over one .Hope you enjoy the rest of the summer.

Local attractions

Get out onto the South West Coast Path close to the site, try your hand at fishing for Dorset mackerel, canter along the coast on horseback, take a boat out, or up the ante with some kayaking or zorbing… all available nearby. Weymouth, four miles away, has been a famed Dorset seaside spot since Georgian times and these days has stacks to do such as sailing and surfing (several surf schools are around if you're just starting out), a long sandy beach and a Sea Life Centre, miniature railway and RSPB reserve above the town at Lodmoor Country Park. More famed Dorset days can be had with fossil hunting on Chesil Beach, six miles away, and taking in the sight of spectacular Durdle Door at Lulworth Cove, within seven miles of the site. You could also chatter with the inhabitants of Monkey World, see the swans at the award-winning Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens, or steam along to the Tank Museum at Bovington, all reachable within 10 miles.
