  • Family-run site a mile from the Jurassic Coast
  • Footpath leading to the South West Coast Path
  • Shop next door and pubs within walking distance
Guests return season after season to serene Osmington Mills Corner Campsite in its Dorset coast setting just outside the village of Osmington: it's been family run for over 60 years and has Dorset site stays down pat. Spacious pitches, room for kids to run around, and scenic views towards Weymouth four miles away are the secrets of its success, along with a peaceful rural vibe, restaurants nearby, and the site's closeness to the sea, a mile from the beaches of the Jurassic Coast. You can easily access the region's spectacular walks from here too, as a footpath leads from the site to the coast to connect with the South West Coast Path. (Or if that's a no thanks to the walk, a bus stop is just outside the site with services running to Weymouth.) Osmington has toilets, showers, a washing-up area and the means for ice pack freezing and gadget charging. A shop is next door to the site, and pubs and restaurants are within walking distance.

What customers say

A cherished, simple campsite. Campers rave about great value, freedom to pick your spot, and super-friendly owners. Facilities are basic but clean with hot showers. Perfect for coast and Weymouth exploring, with a bus stop right outside. Some found facilities basic when busy, and a few uneven pitches.

Primitive grass campervan, tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked Being able to pick your own pitch was good, toilets were generally clean and never a queue. Site was well laid out

Disliked Showers need vast improvement, the pressure was terrible, it was like standing under a watering can sprinkler. The temperature varied. There aren't doors, just shower curtains which feels very exposing and no space to hang anything inside your cubicle so towels have to stay outside, no shelves for toiletries etc and a very odd smell in there for our whole stay. Also only three available for each gender so a few times had to wait.
The check in procedure was confusing as no one was there when we arrived until 7pm to check in so you are left unsure of what to do, we were asked by a few other campers arriving in the day time what to do so not just us.

Primitive grass campervan, tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked Such good value for money.
The site has toilets and showers which are basic but are clean and well looked after.
The site has a small shop and the staff are incredibly welcoming and helpful.
Loved the layout and the views, it felt like you could always find a space to pitch that had enough room, where you weren’t all camped on top of each other.
There are two pubs in walking distance, one across the main road and one down by the sea.
Would definitely return if we were to go that way again.

Disliked Nothing.

Local attractions

Get out onto the South West Coast Path close to the site, try your hand at fishing for Dorset mackerel, canter along the coast on horseback, take a boat out, or up the ante with some kayaking or zorbing… all available nearby. Weymouth, four miles away, has been a famed Dorset seaside spot since Georgian times and these days has stacks to do such as sailing and surfing (several surf schools are around if you're just starting out), a long sandy beach and a Sea Life Centre, miniature railway and RSPB reserve above the town at Lodmoor Country Park. More famed Dorset days can be had with fossil hunting on Chesil Beach, six miles away, and taking in the sight of spectacular Durdle Door at Lulworth Cove, within seven miles of the site. You could also chatter with the inhabitants of Monkey World, see the swans at the award-winning Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens, or steam along to the Tank Museum at Bovington, all reachable within 10 miles.
