What customers say

Highlands End has gorgeous coastal views & a well-kept site with great facilities like clean showers. Staff are friendly, location is ideal for walks to West Bay/Eype Beach, and pitches are spacious. Leisure & the shop are big hits. Some found it windy, and a few noted occasional food issues at the bar.

Liked After a phone call to advise us not to camp due to high winds I spoke with a lovely lady called Teresa who was fantastic, she was so lovely in finding us alternative accommodation in a caravan across the way on Epey Beach park, a much smaller and quieter park, it was excellent and much closer to the dog friendly beach which suited us perfectly, I can’t stress enough how great Teresa was in our hour of need, her calm and soft spoken tone instantly put me at ease so thank you for that, the caravan was brilliant and had everything we needed although the oven didn’t work and along with one or two utensils needed cleaning on arrival the place and location was spot on 10/10

Liked Location was great being just off the M5 and the facilities and setting were excellent. We ate in the pub and found the portions to be large, very tasty and reasonably priced (can’t understand a previous review which said portions were small).
Staff were all really helpful and overall it was a really pleasurable stay.

Liked A testament to how much we enjoyed our stay at Highlands End and the surrounding area this summer is that we normally travel around in our campervan and use a site as a base - at Highlands End we didn't move for nine nights! West Bay was a little gem about 20mins walk over the clifftops from the site, with its harbour, pubs, restaurants and ice cream stalls.

The site is clean, the staff are friendly and we appreciated receiving weather reports by text (there were some gusty days). The site had all of the amenities we needed for a small family with a young child, the pitch was a nice size and had (unexpectedly) it's only water and drainage - we had a great time.

Liked Pitches were a good size. Lovely views. Martins bar was clean and food was good

Disliked Having paid to stay we thought having to pay extra to use the swimming pool was awful. Would have been happy to book but don’t think we should need to pay extra

Liked We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Highlands End Caravan Park! The location is breathtaking, with stunning views over the Jurassic Coast and plenty of great walks right on the doorstep. The facilities are spotless and well maintained, from the shower blocks to the leisure amenities, and everything feels cared for to a very high standard.

The staff are incredibly welcoming and helpful, always going the extra mile to make sure guests have a great experience. We really appreciated how family- and dog-friendly the park is, with lots of thoughtful touches that make it easy to relax and enjoy your time away.

The on-site restaurant and bar are excellent, and it’s so convenient having everything you need within the park while still being just a short drive from Bridport and West Bay.

Overall, it’s the perfect mix of comfort, natural beauty, and great service. We can’t wait to return and would highly recommend Highlands End to anyone looking for a memorable break on the Dorset coast!

Silver camping pod (four person)

Liked Very clean pod, facilities and grounds. The shop was also well stocked with essentials and it was never too far from a toilet block.

Scenery was amazing and quick easy access to coastal paths. Couldn't have asked for better.

Disliked The 11pm quiet time was not enforced which meant we had screeching kids playing the park directly behind our park until gone 11:30. Not ideal when you're trying to sleep and have kids that also need to sleep.

Pod was incredibly hot and stuffy with no way to cool out down without leaving the main door open (window at back was tiny and meant we could hear the screeching at a louder volume)

Local attractions

From beaut beaches to historic towns, fossil hunting to wholesome hikes, the Dorset coast has a colossal amount of activities and attractions whatever floats your boat. Cast off for some sea fishing, take a boat trip or scuba dive to the depths from local beaches, or tee off instead with a course around the clifftop 18 holes of the Bridport and West Dorset Golf Club. West Bay and Bridport are both about a mile from Highlands End (just the right distance to walk for an ice cream on a sunny day), and at least a day is recommended in each: the miles of West Bay for sunbathing, watersports and landing mackerel from a boat; and the market town of Bridport for its 17th-century museum and the market, going strong since Elizabethan times and the place to pick up everyday items like local food and more outlandish bits and bobs like clothes and antiques. Beachcombers and fossil finders will probably find themselves at Lyme Regis at some point, one of the most famed stretches on the Jurassic Coast and along with Bridport one of its gateway towns – it was here that famous geologist Mary Anning made her first finds in the 19th century and the town holds an annual Mary Anning Day as well as the Lyme Regis Fossil Festival. Visitor centres and museums are dotted all around the coast; if you’re not sure where to start, most have guided tours available. Hikers will be happy too with the wealth of paths and bridleways snaking around coast and countryside from Highlands and beyond – the South West Coast Path follows the entire 95-mile Jurassic coastline and Dorset has around 300 miles of waymarked paths and trails. Buses stop at many coastal spots, or hire a minibus to spectate the scenery in style.
