What customers say

Great spot, quiet, beautiful views. Spacious, clean hot showers. Owner is super friendly. Facilities are basic but good. Composting toilets & limited washing-up noted. Access via single-track lanes; great value, but might be tight when full.

Waypark Field primitive grass campsite

Liked The views are stunning. Friendly Owners. Freedom to choose our spot. And loved having sheep outside our tent door.
Clean, hot showers. And minutes from the sea!!

Disliked Nothing! But some did mention the sawdust loo's, so be sure to read what they are before going. It didn't bother us at all but may not be for everyone.

Summerpark Field primitive grass tent, campervan or trailer tent campsite

Liked Loved the freedom of the site… pitches were nice size… and that view to the sea was beautiful… nice walk down to the cove and a nice little beach front with a pub n fish n chips…

Disliked The lane to get to it was tricky as we kept meeting bigger vehicles but that’s Devon. Was worth the lanes

Liked Amazing View from the top of the field of Slapton Ley Beach, good recycling points, showers were good.

Disliked most pitches are on a slope so next time we will take levelling chocks for our Van, as we weren't aware before booking

Local attractions

Totnes (35 minutes' drive) has lots of cute indie shops, and if you’d like to explore other Devon towns, drive to East Portlemouth (15 minutes) and hop on the ferry to Salcombe (20 minutes) for dinghy hire, spas and a gin distillery, or head off to Dartmouth (35 minutes) and have a poke around the town’s namesake castle and a leisurely lunch in waterfront restaurants overlooking the Dart river. If you’re holidaying with the family, park down by the lake at Slapton Ley (five minutes’ drive) and let your kids and dogs have a run around along Slapton Sands spit (10 minutes). There are thrill rides at Woodlands Family Theme Park (20 minutes), and you can keep the kids entertained with keeper talks and big cats at Paignton Zoo Environmental Park (50 minutes). For a quiet family day on the lovely beaches of South Devon, try secluded Mattiscombe Sands for rockpooling and paddling, or head to Lannacombe beach (both 15 minutes) for safe swimming – the latter is also dog friendly all year around.
