This small and simple site is located deep in the Somerset countryside, around a quarter of an hour's drive from Wellington and 25 minutes from the edge of Exmoor National Park. The site is on the outskirts of the peaceful village of Staple Cross, where there is a pub. Slightly further afield, Wellington has supermarkets, restaurants and other amenities. The Deer Barn Fields has basic facilities, including a water tap, a chemical toilet and an open-air solar shower. This location has fab far-reaching views over the local landscape, where a pleasant mix of trees and farmland create a relaxed rural atmosphere. A firepit is available too, and firewood is usually available to buy on site. Another big plus is that when you book here, you can look forward to having the whole camping field to yourself – allowing you plenty of space for stargazing or soaking up the lovely views. Other advantages of staying at The Deer Barn Fields include the possibility of picking up fresh free-range eggs for breakfast. Barbecue packs are also for sale if you fancy cooking out of doors. Handily, a picnic bench is available, as is a gazebo should you need shelter from the elements. Please note that The Deer Barn Fields has a leave no trace policy, so you'll need to take all litter home with you.
