  • Working dairy farm site with sea views on the Hartland Peninsula
  • A 10-minute drive from Hartland Quay; 15 minutes from Clovelly
  • Walking distance from Hartland’s shops, pubs and eateries
Paying a visit to the Hartland Peninsula for its handsome coastline and characterful coastal towns? From Pitt Farm Camping in North Devon, you’ll be able to tackle the coast full throttle, as this working farm site is just 10 minutes’ drive away from Hartland Quay and 15 minutes from the particularly pretty Clovelly… that means seafood lunches and meeting the donkeys at this ancient fishing village are not so far away. And what of the site itself? Well, this site is a working dairy farm on the Hartland Peninsula. The family have farmed in this area for generations and this specific farm for 25 years, so it’s well looked after and includes a modern toilet and shower block, spacious pitches and, of course, plenty of peace and quiet tucked away from the well-trodden tracks. Devotee of the outdoors? No problem. From the farm, you’ll have ample opportunities to get out into the area's diverse landscapes, as there are miles of clifftop walks, secluded beaches and marine wildlife in this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. You’ll still be nicely close to the shops, markets and local events in Hartland though, as it’s 20 minutes’ walk away through woodlands. Once you’ve hit the village, you might want to dip into one of its pubs and eateries (or there are many more spread out over the peninsula). This is rural Devon, so it's a good idea to make sure you've planned ahead – for example, the nearest petrol station in Bideford (half an hour’s drive) or Bude (35 minutes).

Primitive grass tent or RV campsite

Liked Lovely big field, immaculate ‘his & hers’ toilets and showers, clear skies, peaceful and welcoming.

Less than 2 miles from the South West Coast Path and 5 miles from Clovelly. Close to cliff top views and amazing beaches (especially Westward Ho!).

Clean, big facilities and very friendly hosts…

Primitive grass tent or RV campsite

Liked Beautiful stay. Space was perfect. Level pitches and wonderful views.
Run by lovely people who helped me to put up my tent in the less than ideal weather we arrived in.
Excellent balance of feeling isolated in nature but being no more than 10 mins from everything need. Great base to go and explore a range of activities and local sights.
Clean, high quality toilet and shower block.

Big flat field with plenty of options where to park. Lovely spot -…

Primitive grass tent or RV campsite

Liked Lovely area to go camping, beautiful areas to visit. This is our second time back to Pitt Farm and I just love the place. Clean and modern toilet block, nice massive field to pick a spot to pitch-up. Always a lovely welcome from the owner and great that it’s also dog friendly.

Local attractions

Buckle in, because family-friendly theme parks are not far away from here. Whether it’s the bumper cars, mini coasters or obstacle arena at The Milky Way Adventure Park (10 minutes’ drive) or the animal shows, twister and tractor rides at The BIG Sheep (25 minutes), the mini family members (and older ones, too) will be in for some traditional amusement. To the coast… the Ultimate Adventure Centre (25 minutes) will help you explore the shoreline in several ways, thanks to its coasteering activities and surf school (or there’s a high ropes course and assault course on drier land). And elsewhere, Welcombe Mouth Beach (25 minutes) may be quite a quiet spot, but it’s still surfing friendly and a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) for its stylish rock formations. Along the South West Coast Path, Speke's Mill Mouth Waterfall (10 minutes) is another properly scenic spot. Over in Hartland, there are more coastal walks and swimming at Hartland Quay (10 minutes) or an older-style outing at Hartland Abbey (five minutes), a 12th-century abbey and 15th-century mill.
