Well Park Glamping offers grass pitches in gently sloping fields overlooking fields and hills near Totnes in South Devon countryside. Each pitch has a designated area suitable for a small family tent, and each is spaced equally around a central firepit – a great spot for holidaying with friends or family as you can all camp together.
These pitches all have views to the east, so if you’re an early riser, you can catch the sun coming up. The site is open to the midday sun, but sheltered from the afternoon heat by two ash trees nearby. At the top of the field is a shared space with picnic tables encircled by newly planted trees; this is where you’ll catch the last of the day’s sunshine.
Considerate and really rather fab on-site facilities include a communal trailer housing two bespoke shower rooms, each with a shower, wall-hung loo, basin and mirror. There’s also a mains water point and a small recycling cupboard that you share with one other pitch.
Outsides, a commercial sink and drainer takes care of the washing up and there’s a natty, under-worktop fridge too – plus you can charge your devices at the USB points here.
If you’re holidaying with the kids, or just feel the need for a good old run around, there’s a games area with football goal posts at the bottom of the field, surrounded by an abundance of wildflowers.
Source supplies at the farm shop 15 minutes' drive away or head into the town shops in Kingsbridge, Totnes and Dartmouth (all within a 20-minute drive, as are several good pubs).
