Pitches at sunset
Fantastic views, huge field for the kids to run around in.
Grassy pitches
Campsite overlooking the 5 acre camping / play field

  • Five-acre farm site with quiet, level-grounded dog-friendly pitches
  • A 15-minute drive from the coast; 20 minutes to Dartmoor National Park
  • Pub and small food shop within walking distance; footpaths nearby
Surfing up your street? Perhaps you have a flame for sailing, canoeing or coastal paths? A 15-minute drive away from the Devon coast and 20 minutes from Dartmoor National Park, Higher Seawardstone Farm is well-situated for making the most of the surf and sand, as well as hiking past Dartmoor’s ponies and river valleys, depending on which way you choose to go. Between Totnes and Kingsbridge or Dartmouth and Dartmoor, the pitches are in a peaceful pocket of the countryside on a five-acre farm with no road noise. The site is level-grounded and looks out over the countryside and sea, meaning you’ll be waking up to some rather splendid scenery. Dogs are welcome here, so it’s a good job that you’ll be surrounded by such quiet rural surroundings. There are many dog walks and footpaths surrounding the site. If kids want to bring their own games, a five-acre field is at their disposal. Other handy bits nearby include a small food shop and local pubs, a few minutes' drive from base. Those of you who worked up a good sweat on the footpaths or beaches will be particularly happy to find the site has an amenities block with showers and toilets. Aside from that, facilities on site include drinking water and a chemical disposal point. While there is no wifi at Higher Seawardstone Farm, there is good mobile internet coverage.

What customers say

This campsite earns praise for its stunning views, peaceful vibe, and spotless, well-kept facilities, including hot showers. Friendly, welcoming owners add to the relaxed feel. Pitches are spacious and level. Facilities are basic but functional. Access roads are narrow, and some guests noted occasional noise from nearby kennels.

Powered grass tent or RV campsite

Liked Lovely location, level pitches, good water & electric access. Very friendly owner, clean and homely amenities with ample paper, soap and towels provided. Easily found, clear directions provided, safely fenced for small children & pets. Good cellphone coverage, no wifi (which is a plus to me, but opinions vary there.). Would come again, but will check weather forecast as location means it can get a little windy.

Powered grass tent or RV campsite

Liked Great pitch space, close to electric hook up, clean shower and toilets (at first glance looked very rustic but they were very good, nice wash up station. Plenty of room on site. Our hosts were very welcoming, good phone signal for those that craved it 😉. Views were lovely and a great location / base to get to all the wonderful areas south Devon has.

Powered grass tent or RV campsite

Liked We had a great stay here for a week.
Lovely big pitches
Lovely owners, clean showers and toilets.
Location is great - we used as a base and did so much within an hour.
Phone signal was great.

Not a negative but as others have said, could do with a few more toilets as some mornings and before bed was busy and at times a little queue.
We really enjoyed our stay. Perfect and just what we needed.

Local attractions

Make your way over the clifftops by following the South West Coast Path (15 minutes’ drive) and plan in plenty of pitstops for Cornish cream teas as you pass by the towns. There are plenty of coastal locations that will break up any hike or coastal drive with watersports or boat trips, such as Blackpool Sands (15 minutes) or Dartmouth (20 minutes). While you’re in Dartmouth, you’ll get to tick off Dartmouth Castle. Walk in the footsteps of former soldiers and Victorian workers as you explore the battery passageways and the gun tower. But where else must you tick off your Devon bucket list? Paignton (half an hour) has beaches, a pier, a geopark and the Paignton Zoo Environmental Park (half an hour). Dartmoor National Park (20 minutes) has gorgeous landscapes and hikes galore, of course, including the Dartmoor Way heritage trail. Then, there’s the family-friendly theme park at Woodlands Leisure Park (10 minutes) or the National Trust’s Overbeck's (half an hour), which was once the home of inventor Otto Overbeck, left to visit too - and they're both well worth the visit.
