  • Laidback dog-friendly north Devon site with sea views from pitches
  • In Exmoor National Park and on the South West Coast Path
  • Horse riding and 'goat café' on site, plus bar with home-made cider
You’re off to the north Devon coast and Exmoor National Park, so presumably you’re hoping for beaches, coast walks, outdoor activities… and maybe a pint of local cider to round off the day? Well, you’ll get all of those at Caffyns Farm, a 160-acre property 10 minutes’ drive from Lynton and Lynmouth – oh, and you’ll get a ‘goat café’ too… This attractive location has sea views from its pitches, giving you a hint that you’re not far from the coast here. In fact, it’s an easy 20-minute walk to the nearest beach, Lee Bay, and as the South West Coast Path runs along the site perimeter, you’ll also be able to walk to places like Woody Bay, Valley of Rocks and Heddon’s Mouth. So that’s a winning location, but there’s more to come – because this is a friendly and laidback place where you can choose your own pitch, get your barbecue or campfire going and generally chill out. You’re welcome to take a wander around the farm to meet the friendly animals (sheep, alpacas and chickens among them) and maybe sign up for horse riding activities – they cater for all levels from beginners to advanced riders. After a walk through the orchard there’s only one thing for it – a pint of the farm’s own cider, of course. You can sample this alongside other drinks in the site’s bar, and also pick up snacks and barbecue supplies in the farm shop. Meanwhile, meals from breakfasts to three-course dinners are available in the barn café. Essential facilities on site include freshwater standpipes, a chemical disposal point, a launderette, two bathroom blocks and a kitchen with fridge/freezer and microwave.

What customers say

This well-kept, lovely site offers great sea/countryside views, plenty of space, and a relaxed vibe. Staff are consistently praised as friendly and helpful, the shop is well-stocked, and the cafe/bar serves tasty, affordable food and local cider. Facilities are generally clean and well-maintained. Farm animals are a hit, and the location is perfect for exploring. Minor notes include long grass, occasional camper noise, and a wish for better recycling.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked Fantastic site well maintained and everything you could want from. Easy to explore Devon and lots of walks but not for the faint hearted.

Disliked Stayed 3 nights. 1st night a group of scouts screaming and shouting until 3 30am. 3rd night the site was busier but a group behind me partying until 1.30am. This is not the owners fault just inconsiderate campers. Take some ear plugs.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked - The restaurant and its incredible **INCREDIBLE** food
- The location was top tier - close to the beach and a short drive to lots of good places
- The range of different animals that you could see and interact with on the farm. Im talking Donkeys, Horses, Alpacas, goats, chickens. Not to mention some good spots for spotting dear and birds of prey.
- Toielts are close to all fields-
- Beautiful views of the sea, South Wales and the rolling hills
- The farm has a beautiful well trained good mannered dog

Disliked The poor parenting of the people in the tent next to us. Not the campsites fault.

Liked Honestly I have stayed at 20 campsites around cornwall and Exmoor this summer traveling.... this is my favorite of them all. So reasonably priced for everything that it offers. I came for one night but stayed longer. It will be one I will definitely return to!

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked What a wonderful site. Large and small fields to pitch up in. Well maintained facilities which included cold food storage and a freezer which was needed the weekend I visited as super hot! Not to mention a bar and cafe on site, goats, horses, donkeys, alpaca and chickens oh nearly forgot the turkeys. Hosts friendly and accommodating and the best part was the view it was spectacular! Lots of walking trails available though don’t be like me and get lost! Had an amazing 4 days and did not want to leave.

Liked Farm was very clean and staff were friendly and inviting. When first arrived was welcomed at reception and provided very useful information about the farm and a map of the surrounding area which was helpful.
There were also cold water taps jotted around the site which was convenient.
Toilet and shower blocks were clean and the showers were clean and the rain fall shower heads were refreshing with the heat.
Onsite shop/bar were well equipped with all the essential items.
Overall a great stay and will definitely be visiting again.

Liked Beautiful site, loved the animals, the view, the cafe, the bar and the cider. Really friendly welcome from all staff. Loved it and we’ll definitely be back!

Disliked It was very noisy on our first night - two groups of people talking and playing music until gone 1am until we asked them to stop.
I know the owners have no control over this, but maybe in their welcome pack they could say no noise after 11pm? I’ve found this works with other campsites we’ve stayed at.
