Cosy down at Tinnacre Tents… part of Lower Tinacre Farm in the rural southwest, this pop-up site is a peaceful patch in the Devon countryside just outside of Holsworthy. Close to the border, you may crack open both the Devon and Cornwall coast, as Bude’s beaches are 25 minutes’ drive away and the Hartland Cornwall Heritage Coast 35 minutes’ drive away. An hour from the M5 and with the scenic Dartmoor National Park 40 minutes’ drive away, you’ll also be well-connected to other destinations (or your route back home). No matter how far or wide you travel or how action-packed or relaxed a break you have in mind, there’s always a peaceful base to return to. And it’s certainly easy to unwind here, as wood can be purchased on site to get a firepit going in the evening, and barbecues are permitted too. Just make sure to rustle up an extra sausage (or two) if you’ve brought your dog along – they’re welcome on site on a lead. This is a simple site on a traditional working sheep farm, so facilities are kept to the essentials and include toilets and an Elsan point. You won’t have too far to look for essentials from here either, as the historic market town Holsworthy’s shops, pubs and takeaways are five minutes' drive away for day-to-day needs. There are dozens more scenic villages in the area too, both coastal and countryside, where you may want to hunt down more country pubs and locals’ haunts.
