  • Family-run campsite in the small village of Gwithian
  • Under a mile from the South West Coast Path; Hayle four miles
  • Utility corner with charging facilities and a communal fridge
It's got sand, it's got a pub, it's got rockpools and it's got surfing – all in all, Gwithian's a pretty groovy spot. Set in a quiet part of the village under a mile from the beach and the South West Coast Path, Prosper House Camping is a family-run campsite close to some of the best bits of Cornwall's north coast. Prosper House Camping is a laidback, no-frills site, where a small number of pitches creates a chilled, intimate atmosphere. Toilets and hot showers are provided, as well as a small utilities corner with handy charging facilities and a communal fridge that guests are free to use. Although the views here look out over surrounding farmland, Prosper House Camping is under 100 feet from the village pub and 20 minutes' walk from two popular seaside cafés. There's decent public transport here too, with buses that can get you into Hayle in roughly 20 minutes for when you need a supermarket, railway station or just fancy a change of scene. Since opening in 2016, Prosper House Camping has had lots of satisfied customers, with some guests coming back year after year. If you like old-style camping in peaceful grounds where the kids can play freely and you can huddle around a firepit in the evening, this could be the place for you.

Primitive grass tent or RV campsite (pet friendly)

Liked Throughly enjoyed my time here! Lovely pitches and well maintained facilities. The campsite had a nice chilled out feel, and I very much enjoyed the company of the friendly cats, dog and chickens on the site. There was a lot of good information regarding the local area to be found, and the communal fridge was very useful for storing perishables.

Would highly recommend, and look forward to visiting again the future!

Primitive grass tent or RV campsite (pet friendly)

Liked It’s just a lovely little site, basic, but delightful - good sized pitches and you’re not on top of each other - only stayed for one night, but I’ll be back for sure. It is basic (and I don’t mean that in a disrespectful way) but that’s its charm. No EHU but that’s not the end of the world as there is a communal fridge/freezer, it has everything you need, showers and toilets were clean - I just loved the layout of the site, very “back to nature”. I wish I could have stayed longer than the one night and will next time, it’s a charming little site and within minutes of arriving was chatting to three other campers on the immediate pitches who were friendly and all complementary of the site! Oh, and the food in the pub next door was delicious!

Disliked Only thing was no mobile phone signal, WiFi would have been handy as I’ve recently lost my wife and wanted to keep in touch with the kids - but not a deal breaker! The pub has WiFi, just meant I had to pop there - that should be in the likes section really lol

Primitive grass tent or RV campsite (pet friendly)

Liked The loos were clean and very pleasant. The showers were so warm! The shed with a kettle and fridge were a lovely unexpected surprise! Made the stay very easy! The board with the pitches on made it easy to find where to say! The campsite was easy to find. The grass was mown with lovely wildlife corridors. The campsite was very quiet.

Disliked Turning out of the gateway back onto the road was not fantastic visability, but not impossible to navigate by any means.

Natural, back to nature, large pitches. Everything you need to get by.…
