  • CAMC members-only site at a handy mid-Cornwall location
  • Newquay beaches and the Eden Project within half an hour's drive
  • Two miles from the A30; easy vehicle access through a wide gate
If you’re planning to see as much of Cornwall as you can during your break, it stands to reason that a location right in the middle of the county is a very handy place to be – especially if you can manage to be close to an A road at the same time. And that’s exactly what you’ll get when you pick a pitch at Mid Cornwall Camping Certified Location… this site is about five minutes’ drive from the A30 at Indian Queens and pretty much equidistant between the north and south coasts. It’s a location that puts you within easy reach of all sorts of Cornwall attractions, including beaches, historic sites and major attractions like the Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan (all within a half-hour drive). This is a small site that’s reserved for Caravan and Motorhome Club members only, so it’s usually a pretty peaceful place where you’ll be among like-minded guests. Pitches have been set up specifically with tourers in mind, so they’re solid and well-spaced with all the essential amenities (including water and electric connections) provided. No worries about getting your vehicle into place, either – the gateway into the site is more than 8 metres wide for easy manoeuvres. Kids and dogs are welcome at this site, and the latter will be able to run around safely at the fenced dog run area. Barbecues and campfires are permitted, with picnic tables provided and supplies available at several nearby shops or in St Austell (20 minutes’ drive). A pub with food is two miles away in St Dennis.

What customers say

This new, family-run spot has level, fully serviced pitches with hookups, plus picnic tables. Praised for its great central location to explore Cornwall and a secure dog run. Owners are super friendly, helpful, and attentive. Mostly clean, but some mention occasional morning road noise and limited washrooms when busy.

FHU cement/asphalt and grass travel trailer campsite (members only)

Liked As advertised - Clean, large pitch, very helpful owners, quiet, dog area etc. Good value. Easy to get to from main road. Facilities were clean. Owners checked in regularly.
Need a very long waste pipe for some pitches, depending on side that you have waste, but the owner was quick to loan one to us.

Disliked Only one toilet and shower in site, was not a problem until site became busier. Would be good to have at least a second toilet as the site develops.

Liked Great location in mid Cornwall with easy access to many nearby places of interest. Facilities are simply but very clean and tidy. All of the family (owners) were very friendly and happy to have a chat.

Disliked Road past the site can be slightly noisy at times, however, I think this is going to be common to the area in general.

FHU cement/asphalt and grass travel trailer campsite (members only)

Liked Very spacious hard standing pitch with a large grassed area also which included your very own picnic table. Well appointed water, electric and drainage. For some pitches the drains are quite a distance but the owners provided those who needed them extra long drainage pipes.

Only 1 shower and toilet on site which wasn't an issue for me but for some who do get toilet anxiety it could be a problem. The Thetford toilet disposal point was very good with a powerful hose to help shift debris and being fully serviced we took advantage of our caravan shower. Onsite toilets were cleaned and restocked daily.

During our stay the owners had opened up the grass field for other guests which probably doubled the occupancy from 6 hard standing, fully serviced to 10 to 12 pitches putting further strain on the toilet situation.

These aren't negatives for me and we stayed for 11 nights and managed to see all the major attractions Cornwall has to offer with minimal fuss due to the great central location of this site. Supermarkets if needed are close by and we just built a visit to pick up bits into our days out. Cafe and chippy in St Dennis well worth a visit.

We will definitely be back, thoroughly enjoyed our stay, yes morning HGV traffic starts early and is constant throughout the day but price, location, pitches and it just being a really attractive well kept site outweigh all of these small bits.

Disliked Nothing

Liked Owners very helpful and freindly , nothing to much trouble , level large pitches ,

Disliked We asked to be pitched together when booking , but unfortunately when we arrived we wasn't until the following day meaning resetting up again . Was a bit of a problem but when staying for a week it was worth the hassle . Bit of road noise but no big deal
