  • Family- and dog-friendly site with views of the Cornwall countryside
  • Walking distance from the beach; a 15-minute drive to the Eden Project
  • Links to trails and footpaths; pub nearby; natural spring water
Escape to Menagwins Farm, a relaxed, dog-friendly and family-run site in the scenic Pentewan Valley. Surrounded by sloping Cornish countryside and woodland, with views towards historic tin mines, this eco-friendly site is a peaceful place to slow down and spend some time in nature. On clear nights, the dark skies make for excellent stargazing, with little light pollution and plenty of space to sit back and look up. The farm is dedicated to both agriculture and wildlife, and it's common to spot a good variety of birds, deer and other local wildlife moving through the fields and hedgerows. The coast is temptingly close. A scenic 45-minute walk or an easy 20-minute cycle is all it takes to reach Pentewan beach, cafés, pubs and shops. Porthpean beach, Charlestown harbour (host to many a film and series, including Poldark) and the fishing village of Mevagissey are all within a 10-minute drive of the site, with chances for paddleboarding, kayaking or hiring a boat. Stroll onto the Pentewan Trail directly from the farm entrance, or follow footpaths that link up with Cornwall’s extensive coastal path network. Back on site, facilities are simple and thoughtfully designed; there are composting toilets, a refreshing cold shower and natural spring water. Local pubs, takeaways and harbourfront restaurants are just a short drive away, including a traditional 16th-century village pub five minutes' drive from the farm.

What customers say

Peaceful, basic campsite with friendly owners, loved for its eco-vibe and great views. Clean composting toilets and bracing cold showers noted. Sloping field means levellers are a good idea. Excellent base for exploring, with walks, beaches and attractions nearby. Good value.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked Easy to find and loads of space on the field, very simple but effective facilities. My kids loved the open field and location of being able to go on a woodland walk starting at the entrance of the camping location.

Disliked It was not a dislike just wasnt quite aware of the slope of the field as we use a tentbox, the slope of the field made us need to find the best area suited to the ladder but it wasnt a problem just something to be aware of for next time.

Liked Lovely big field with a great view. I didn’t use any of the facilities so can't comment. Relaxing day and night with just myself and my pup.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked Excellent customer service. Daisy was really welcoming and always around to check compost toilets were stocked, people had what they needed. A great friendly face.
Lovely (bracing) cold shower and washing up/cleaning area with fresh drinkable water. There was even some washing up liquid and shower gel and hand sanitiser etc. We'd brought out own but it showed that the owners/other campers are thoughtful and considerate.
I loved that we were able to choose where to pitch up and we were left to our own devices. A real sense of freedom and relaxation. If you need it, the mobile phone reception is also excellent.
An ideal place within easy reach of woodland walks (King's Wood), beautiful river walks (St. Austell river) and a lovely view of the Cornish countryside. Food options also plentiful with the Polgooth Inn, Trevithick farm shop and many more within 10m drive. All dog-friendly. Would definitely come again. Thank you. Great place, great price, great experience:)

Disliked No fault of the owners so nothing wrong there. The field is on a slight slope so best to come early to choose the flatter sections. Also next to sewage works which do hum through the night but some earplugs should be sufficient. Finally, we went in the height of summer during a heatwave so brought an electric fly-swatter - it was such a great idea because there were loads! The kids had a great time swatting them all so we really weren't bothered by them. Other than that, really can't fault our stay. Thanks for having us!

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked Nice picturesque and peaceful field. Toilets and showers were clean. Plenty of space and not too crowded.

Disliked Can’t be helped but field is mostly on a slope (not ideal for tents) and not much shade to seek in this hot weather.
