  • Family- and dog-friendly site with views of the Cornwall countryside
  • Walking distance from the beach; a 15-minute drive to the Eden Project
  • Links to trails and footpaths; pub nearby; natural spring water
Escape to Menagwins Farm, a relaxed, dog-friendly and family-run site in the scenic Pentewan Valley. Surrounded by sloping Cornish countryside and woodland, with views towards historic tin mines, this eco-friendly site is a peaceful place to slow down and spend some time in nature. On clear nights, the dark skies make for excellent stargazing, with little light pollution and plenty of space to sit back and look up. The farm is dedicated to both agriculture and wildlife, and it's common to spot a good variety of birds, deer and other local wildlife moving through the fields and hedgerows. The coast is temptingly close. A scenic 45-minute walk or an easy 20-minute cycle is all it takes to reach Pentewan beach, cafés, pubs and shops. Porthpean beach, Charlestown harbour (host to many a film and series, including Poldark) and the fishing village of Mevagissey are all within a 10-minute drive of the site, with chances for paddleboarding, kayaking or hiring a boat. Stroll onto the Pentewan Trail directly from the farm entrance, or follow footpaths that link up with Cornwall’s extensive coastal path network. Back on site, facilities are simple and thoughtfully designed; there are composting toilets, a refreshing cold shower and natural spring water. Local pubs, takeaways and harbourfront restaurants are just a short drive away, including a traditional 16th-century village pub five minutes' drive from the farm.

What customers say

This eco-friendly, rural spot has amazing views and plenty of room. Guests loved the kind, helpful owners and the clean, simple amenities (compost toilets, cold showers). It's quiet, dog-friendly, and close to trails, beaches, and sights, making it a good deal. A few mentioned the bumpy access road and sloped pitches.

Liked Chilled little campsite perfect for our roadtrip down this way. Booked last minute and received a text with great instructions on how to locate it and shortly after arrival we were greeted by Daisy who was lovely. Washing up facilities, tap and loos all fine. Was a great spot for stargazing!

Disliked There were some flat spots but some spots slopey.

Primitive grass travel trailer campsite

Liked Very friendly and helpful owner. Lovely field and great that it is dog friendly.

Disliked When we arrived there was a large group that had decided to camp up around one of the toilet blocks so if we needed the toilet we had to walk further down the field.

Primitive grass travel trailer campsite

Liked Came down for a wedding, had 2 nights there, with 3 pitches for 8 of us. We were worried about the compost toilets, yet they were cleaner than usual loos!! And far better than chemical portaloos.
Love place, we plan to visit again, quiet, well looked after and great views.

Disliked The lane is rather bumpy, lots of items exited the cupboards!
