  • Peaceful pop-up meadow camping on the gorgeous North Cornwall coast
  • A 25-minute walk to Trevaunance Cove, and 15 to St Agnes village pubs
  • Hot showers on site; access to walks; surfing beach 10 minutes’ drive
A smashing base for walkers, cyclists and surfers alike, the Owl Box Eco Camp is hidden away in a peaceful location with spectacular views over Cornwall’s moorland. Sheltered by a border of trees, the camping field is a short hop from beaches, hiking routes and biking paths. You can access the South West Coast Path in St Agnes village (five minutes’ walk) or be catching waves at Perranporth with a drive of 10 minutes – and the famous surfing beaches at Newquay (30 minutes) are close by. If you’re exploring this quiet corner of Cornwall on two wheels, there’s a choice of routes, and you can hire bikes in St Agnes too. There’s a chilled, no-frills vibe back at the camping field, with handy and very welcome electric showers so you can refresh after the day’s exertions, as well as flushing loos and a washing-up area. Come evening, wander into St Agnes to sample local beers, ciders and pasties in the pubs, or pick up bits for picnics at the handy convenience store. For further supplies or a meal in a cosy restaurant, the bus route that serves Perranporth (10 minutes), Newquay (25 minutes) and Truro (20 minutes) runs from just outside the campsite.

Primitive grass tent or RV campsite

Liked The campground was great, level and spacious. Toilets and showers were great for a pop up site. Easy booking and access. Great location short walk to village and coast path.

Disliked We were unlucky but we had a really bad night. We don't mind a bit of noise but there was a student club group booked, having an event, taking up one half of the site, they had a marquee. So they were back late and blasted music and shouting / singing until 3am - So much for the policy on here stating no student groups and family friendly.

So good site but unmanned - you run the risk of a big groups partying, coming back late and keeping everyone up late ruining others weekends basically.

We had a great stay :)

Primitive grass tent or RV campsite

Liked Location - spacious, calm, incredible stars! Ease of booking and communication with Tom. Great shower, hot and very good pressure. The site was practically empty which was such a treat. We lived waking up here each morning to the sound of the birds.

Perfect for a more basic, easy going camp.

Primitive grass tent or RV campsite

Liked The campsite was really quiet and close to the village. You just arrive and pitch up where you fancy. The loo block was really interesting with plenty of hot water.

Wonderfully simple.

Primitive grass tent or RV campsite

Liked Whilst a basic site - a roadside field with shipping container of a few toilets and a shower - this was just right for our needs! It was just an 8min walk into St.Agnes, uncrowded, never had to wait for the shower - which was probably one of the best showers I've had in terms of heat and water pressure, middle area left nicely wild for nature, toilets reasonably clean and with roilet roll, handy washing-up sinks and a bin, and the field mown. Happy days! Thanks for a good 3 night's 😀

Disliked No recycling bin, another shower would be good.

Good sight with clean facilities and level pitches

Primitive grass tent or RV campsite

Liked Loved the easy booking and arrival
Check in!
Just turn up, set up and that’s it!
As the owl box say “pop in, pop out, pop off!”
the field is very clean and facility’s are good.
Flushing toilets and lovely hot water for washing up and showers.

Disliked Only problem we had as a family with small children… there was nowhere to get changed when coming in/out of the shower, we had to get changed in the shower cubicle which was hard with me and two small children as I couldn’t let them go in on their own.
Just needs just a little more space outside of the shower cubicle for changing before getting in the shower.

Other than that amazing! 🤩

Would book again if in the area

Primitive grass tent or RV campsite

Liked Only us and 2 other parties in the whole field! Also liked only a short walk in to St Agnes Village. Affordable.

Disliked Facilities were basic which is fine, but also felt rather unkempt. I got stung by nettle & pricked by thistles using them.

Great site, brilliant value , convenient for coast & St Agnes village

Local attractions

From the campsite, you can stroll clifftops down to secluded Trevaunance Cove (25 minutes’ walk), overlooked by the Old Blue Hills Tin Mine (15 minutes), or check out to the St Agnes Museum at ruined Wheal Kitty mine (five minutes). For cyclists, multi-use St Piran Trail (10 minutes’ drive) joins up to the Engine House Trail and the Mineral Tramways Cycle Network, taking you past more of Cornwall’s abandoned tin mines and museums, so you can mix up local history with a decent workout. You have loads of beaches to take the kids; they can body surf at Perranporth (10 minutes), go rockpooling at Porth Joke Beach (25 minutes), or visit Godrevy Point (half an hour) to see grey seals snoozing on the sand. Cornwall’s major-player attractions are all within driving distance too: spend time wandering the wild landscapes of The Lost Gardens of Heligan (45 minutes), or plan a day out in jungle-themed biospheres at the Eden Project (50 minutes). Have a nose around the Tate St Ives (half an hour), or head south for wild Atlantic rollers at Land’s End Landmark Attraction (55 minutes).
