  • Sheltered family-friendly site powered by sustainable solar energy
  • Countryside setting, 10 minutes’ drive from Newquay's beaches
  • Heated outdoor pool, café, shop, bar and playground on site
Planning a trip to Newquay to hit the waves on its famed surfing beaches, explore dramatic coastal scenery and tuck into classic Cornish pasties? Treloy Touring Park is a top choice: an award-winning countryside retreat just a 10-minute drive from Newquay and its superb beaches. Despite its proximity to Newquay, this spot is tucked away from the crowds, and it caters exclusively to families and couples looking for an outdoor break with a touch of luxury (and a heated outdoor pool). Holidaymakers will stay on generously sized pitches with access to facilities such as individual washrooms, an accessible shower room, parent and baby rooms and family bathrooms. There's also a high-speed wifi service so you can keep up with the world around you. The café/takeaway cooks delicious locally sourced food and there’s a shop that’s handy for essentials, camping items or fresh coffees, croissants and Cornish pasties. Kids can be entertained at the play area, which has a zipwire, swings, slides and an accessible basket swing, or you can take them wildlife spotting at the nature reserve's pond or the woodland trail. The family-friendly bar is the place to be in the evenings during the school holidays, when you can join in with bingo nights and pub quizzes. The bar has indoor seating as well as a terrace with a pergola, so there should be plenty of space to meet friends or hang out with the family. The sheltered location, only four miles from Newquay, makes this an excellent base for exploring stunning beaches, coastal paths, villages and Cornwall’s top attractions. Plus, the nearby Treloy golf course – with a driving range, nine-hole course, golf shop with club hire and a licensed clubhouse – is 15 minutes’ walk up the road and has concessionary prices for the site’s guests.

What customers say

Campers rave about the top-notch, spotless facilities, especially the showers. Spacious, tidy pitches with privacy hedges are a plus. The heated pool, helpful staff, and great location for sightseeing get high marks. Tiny gripes: shower button timing, spotty Wi-Fi, and wanting more washers. Fido-friendly and great for families.

Liked The whole site was lovely, the toilet and shower blocks were spotless and the showers were fantastic. It was a really peaceful site, it was quiet even though it was half term but everyone kept noise to a minimum! 15 minutes from Newquay and just an overall brilliant stay!

Disliked The only thing we would say is that you can’t have open fires and fire pits which is a bit disappointing!

From the manager: Thank you so much for your lovely feedback. We're thrilled to hear that you had such a fantastic time with us and really enjoyed your stay.

We completely understand your disappointment about not being able to have a fire pit. Unfortunately, we don't allow open fires or fire pits due to safety and environmental considerations, but we really appreciate you taking the time to share your suggestion.

Your idea of designated gravelled areas is a great idea, and we'll certainly take it into consideration as we review ways to improve our guests' experience in the future. Thanks again for your thoughtful feedback, we hope to welcome you back for another stay in the future!

Liked Really Lovely Caravan & Camping facilities - the main toilet & shower block was nicer than most budget hotels! As were the washing up and laundry rooms. The Bar was nice (although we only used it a couple of times). The pool looked nice but we didn't use it at all. Overall the park was clean and well organised. We were pleasantly surprised by how quiet it was in the evening. I didn't read anything prior to our visit about a dark skies accreditation but again we were impressed by how wonderful the views of the night sky were.

Liked Excellent, clean, modern, well equipped facilities, nice pool and playground. Cafe looked great but didn’t have time to try it, or the bar and games room. Pitches spacious (for our large family tent) and generally flat. Quiet at night. We’ll be back!

Liked This site is amazing, the facilities are better than some hotels we have stopped in! The site is perfectly clean and well maintained. The staff are fantastic and very friendly, the pool, park and club house are brilliant for the kids and adults alike 😀
We have recommended this site to many friends already and we are planning our next visit for next year

Disliked Not really a bad thing but the showers don't stay on long enough, you have to press the button for water every 5 seconds

Liked The location of the site was brilliant, perfectly placed for exploring Newquay and the surrounding area. The facilities were kept spotlessly clean throughout our stay, and the pitches were very well maintained, spacious, and thoughtfully laid out. We particularly liked the hedges around the pitches which gave a nice sense of privacy. The swimming pool was kept lovely and clean, and it was a great addition to the site – though it did get very busy, so we found it best to go at quieter times. The dog walk was also a brilliant idea and really handy for those with pets.

Disliked The toilets were always kept to a high standard, but we felt another toilet/shower block would be useful, especially up in the top field where we stayed. It was quite a trek back and forth.

Liked Covered everything we needed. They have thought of everything. Best campsite we’ve stayed at.
Staff lovely, friendly and chatty.
Large pitches.

Disliked Only difficulty we had was that the pitch we were on didn’t get any sun in the morning so had to put the tent away wet to be off the pitch by 10am. A later checkout would be beneficial especially on the pitches that don’t get the morning sun.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for so much for your kind words. We’re glad to hear that you found the pitches spacious and thought the team was welcoming. Appreciate the feedback regarding the late checkout and we hope to see you again soon!

Local attractions

Treloy is in a first-class location whether your interests are coast- or countryside-based, with fishing, golfing, cycling and main attractions like the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan all within easy reach. One or more of the 11 beaches in and around Newquay will be most holidaymakers’ first stop. Family beaches such as Mawgan Porth and Watergate Bay are a few minutes’ drive from Treloy: both Mawgan and Watergate are lifeguarded in the summer and Watergate has safe swimming areas for kids. On land, Newquay and its surroundings have plenty going on too: try Trenance Gardens (part of Trenance Leisure Park), where there is more than enough to tire the kids out with the boating lake, crazy golf, play areas, nature trails, the flumes and pools of Waterworld and one of the miniature trains, the Little Western Railway. Blue Reef Aquarium and Lappa Valley Steam Railway should hold the attention of even the most fidgety youngster, but if not, Camel Creek is half an hour away. Kids thoroughly tired out? Onto more grownup activities such as an evening at Newquay’s four-screen cinema, or angle for some fishing: coarse fishing at Porth Reservoir, a mile from Treloy, or a half/full day sea fishing trip from Newquay harbour. The South West Coast Path runs behind Watergate Bay – hike from here to Mawgan Porth – and for two-wheelers, the Padstow to Wadebridge leg of the Camel Trail is an easy traffic-free five-mile cycle.
