  • Peaceful dog-friendly Cornwall site three miles from the coast
  • A 20-minute drive from Lantic Bay; 15 minutes to the Adrenalin Quarry
  • Firepit with log seats and a barbecue area with indoor seating on site
Scampering off to Cornwall to rest and recharge? There’s an excellently peaceful setting for that at Three Corners Meadow in South East Cornwall, just outside the pretty port town of Looe and three miles from the coast. This place is a 20-minute drive away from the National Trust’s Lantic Bay and well-positioned for a wealth of activities, including cycling, hiking and zipwiring, as well as indulging in the sea on the Polperro Heritage Coast (15 minutes’ drive). Fishing, boating and dining on mackerel… that could be part of the plan in Looe (10 minutes’ drive), a port town with seafood restaurants, food shops, friendly pubs, boutique shops and the cool Banjo Pier. Take a boat trip from the quayside to Polperro or Looe Island or sail out to go sharking or fishing for mackerel and wreckfish. Back on site, there are plenty of spaces to unwind, including a firepit with log seats and a barbecue area with indoor seating (however you’d prefer to spend the evening). There are other facilities such as showers, composting toilets and water on site to take care of any basic needs. If you fancy a meal out slightly closer to the site, there’s a gastropub five minutes’ away or an easy 35 minutes’ walk away if you’re planning on having a few to drink.

Local attractions

How does a zipwire with twin cables, a giant clifftop swing, axe throwing or coasteering sound? Those are just some of the activities on hand at Adrenalin Quarry (15 minutes’ drive). The old flooded quarry has sheer cliffs on three sides and a deep lake, making another scenic option being to laze around and watch the activities unfold with a chilled drink in hand. Hiking fans won’t be far off a trail to tackle either, since Bodmin Moor (40 minutes) is also within reach. Here, you’ll find Colliford Lake (half an hour), great for fly fishing or a lakeside walk, the Golitha Falls (20 minutes) and the Carnglaze Caverns (20 minutes). The latter has underground tunnels and a long mining heritage for any history aficionados. Add a museum or aquarium visit to your itinerary too. Plymouth (45 minutes) is home to the Royal William Yard (50 minutes), with its waterside shops and restaurants. Mount Edgcumbe House and Country Park (40 minutes), a regal house and gardens, resides there too. While you’re that way, you might as well go and check out the Rame Head Heritage Coast (40 minutes) and its spectacular walking trails.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked: Liked very much. Escaping from the busy city to eco friendly environments with cockerels. Just giving an idea to sort out recycling and compost bins in the kitchen and an extra shelf somewhere too.

Liked: Great view across the valley.

Disliked: Poor pitch with spiky bits. Dumping ground kitchen, with unplugged fridge and one charging socket. Space for three became space for four.

From the manager: Hello thankyou for your review ....firstly I would like to point out this a nature based farm/campsite so as you would expect spikey bits are to be expected secondly emails were sent out after bookings were received to advise due to not doing our glamping units other areas of our site are not in use as they we primarily for glamping not camping sorry you had such a negative experience if you had spoken to one of the owners these issues could have been sorted for you

Was OK overall, but didn't quite live up to expectations

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked: Lovely views
Friendly atmosphere
Good flat pitches
Shower was warm
Not too far to drive to Looe.
Compost toilets were well managed and did not smell.
Issues quickly sorted.
Overall, not bad for the price

Disliked: Only 1 out of 3 showers working / open. This caused need to queue or be up super early to beat the rush.
Providing hand sanitiser in loos would be beneficial.

From the manager: Thankyou for your review ...our reason for 1 shower this year is after reviewing our shower feedback last year the showers needed upgrading due to the cost of these upgrades we wanted to make sure we purchased the right shower unit for the job due to the cost and running a reduced capacity this year we felt one would be substantial now after reviewing the feedback this year we can now purchase the other 2 units

The site has clean facilities, friendly staff, and level pictures.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked: The owners where so relaxed and friendly. The site is peaceful and has lovely views. I like the barns they have great potential, sadly not in use this year but was given an explanation as to why.
The compost toilets were seen to every day and didn’t smell.
For the price of the Camping, you couldn’t complain.

Disliked: We had a mixture of weather, and when it was wet, the longer grass was a bit of a pain.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked: The site was really in the middle of nowhere, great for an escape and very peaceful. Had wonderful views.
Had showers, albeit they didn’t always work and only 1 was in a useable condition.

Disliked: The camp could do with a noise policy that you can’t make noise past a certain time. One camper was playing music through their speakers whilst we were trying to get to sleep past 10pm.
Toilets could have been emptied a little more regularly and restocked with toilet paper and the sawdust.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thankyou for your review, we would like Amy guests who feel the noise is disturbing to inform us immediately so we can deal with it as we run a strict noise policy and would have delt with it immediately 2 rolls of toilet paper have always been ample for a site running under its full capacity and the sawdust buckets are filled each day again are plenty enough to last until the next toilet clean unfortunately guests don't read the signs in the toilets and stick to the 2 scoops per poop rule ....I apologise for not satisfying you fully

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked: The view

Disliked: We didn't stay. Everything was filthy. No sinks to wash hands. No running fresh water. One compost toilet was blocked and the other smelt. Three showers but two were unusable and the one available needed a good clean. The kitchen area that was there was a no go zone. The owner that showed us around said the fridge needed condemning, and didn't even let us see the kitchen area, I went in after to look. There are reviews from July 2023 but these are absolutely fake. We moved off and found a wonderful campsite nearby. The owner didn't even contact us to ask why. He obviously knew. I lost my money, so do not would not stay there...or check it out before you book. This 'site' should not be advertised anywhere. Its as bad as a scam. I thought Pitchup checked out who was using their website....obviously not.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Hello I'm sorry but I find this review to be completely over exaggerated. Firstly you were the first guests to arrive hence why the gates were locked when you arrived on site early. The toilets are compost toilets so we're not blocked and hadn't even been used. Secondly there are 3 showers but due to running at a reduced capacity this year only one shower was deemed enough which it has been also was clean. Thirdly the owner was not around on that day as he was collecting alpacas the newest addition to the farm and his colleague had told you there was no kitchen facilities and shown you where the running water was. I apologise you did not like our site but from the amount of positive reviews this is clearly your own person opinion. If you had contacted the owner he would have gladly rectified any issues you were facing and if these could not have been rectified would have given you a full refund

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked: Location - Peaceful, quiet. Great night sky. Not too large. Great View.
Showers - Hot. Didn't run out. Large enough to shower and change in.
Composting Toilets - Impressed. No smells. Clean.
Service - The owner was very helpful, polite and welcoming.

Disliked: I would have liked to see a small handbasin in the toilet area to wash hands.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked: Stayed here with my partner for 3 nights and couldn’t of gone better. Nice peaceful site with everything you would need and more. Amazing views at the bottom of the site which we were lucky enough to be able to pitch at. Has a small kitchen area with oven, fridge freezer washing up area too and a large seating area next to it with a charging station for electronics. Showers and toilets were spotless too couldn’t fault anything. Asked owner if we could use bbq one night which he gladly said we could then 5 minutes later he dropped a bbq/fire pit to our tent with wood too so I could sit with my girlfriend at our tent instead which was very nice. Looe a 10 min drive away this site was just perfect for our holiday would definitely stay again.

Disliked: Couldn’t fault anything really but if I was to be picky maybe one more charging station on site but never had issue with this.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked: location was very quiet, good showers

Disliked: I appreciate this is an eco site with composting toilets but they need to emptied regularly, not left to fill to the top. Not pleasant at all.
The pitches were way too close together creating a potential fire risk.
No chemical toilet disposal.
