  • Member price shown; non-members select £15/night extra or join for £69
Cornwall family holidays – sorted. Looe Caravan and Motorhome Club Campsite, a mile and a half from the seaside village itself, is packed with activities for all ages, This site is managed by the Caravan and Motorhome Club, but you don't have to be a member to stay. The price displayed is the discounted rate for members; non-members need to pay the additional £15/night or buy a membership. At £69 for the year, membership is certainly worth considering if you're likely to spend more than four nights at a Caravan and Motorhome Club site over the year – it brings discounts at over 140 UK Club sites, plus other perks like access to tailored caravan/motorhome insurance, discounts on days out and savings on top brands. With distant sea views and a collection of trees around the pitches, this park makes a lovely place to relax for a while. The pitches are nicely sized too, giving you plenty of scope to get your space just as you want it. Putting your feet up and enjoying the peaceful vibe is highly recommended, but there’s also plenty to keep more active souls entertained. The outdoor swimming pool (open from late May to September) is a popular feature, and there’s also a tennis court, a ball game area and a crazy golf course (you’ll need your own tennis racquets and golf clubs for these). The essential amenities are all sorted too, of course – the site has a launderette, a chemical disposal point, an information room, wifi and well-equipped bathrooms with accessible facilities and baby/toddler areas. A small supermarket and a fish and chip shop are within a 10-minute walk and Looe has plenty of places to shop and eat.

What customers say

This clean, quiet site has friendly, helpful staff and good pitch spacing. Amenities include a shop, pool, and mini-golf. Bus links to Looe, Polperro, and Plymouth are close. Free WiFi for 4 hrs/day, but some found daily charges and service expensive. Non-member fee also steep.

Powered grass travel trailer campsite

Liked Friendly helpful staff.
Clean quiet site
Bus stop a few yards down the road to take you into Looe or Polperro or Plymouth the other way.
Having a well stocked shop on site.
Having a site next door with clubhouse and amenities if you want them but keeping your own site quiet.
Pool and mini golf.

Disliked Would like to go back to the old way of buying wifi for the year that covers all sites. Too expensive paying per day if you use the club often.
Free WiFi for browsing isn’t brilliant.

Local attractions

What to do in Looe? Well, there’s the harbour, the beach, the rockpools and the seafood restaurants, of course. Beyond those, you could join a walking tour, visit the Old Guildhall Museum & Gaol or board a glass-bottomed boat – or head out on the South West Coast Path for the walk to Polperro (otherwise 15 minutes’ drive). This stretch of coast is packed with excellent walks, villages and beaches – Millendreath’s sheltered cove (five minutes’ drive), the craggy Rame Head (half an hour) and cute Fowey (40 minutes) are among the top picks. Inland, the Looe Valley offers up lots of lovely walks as well as attractions like Looe Valley Vineyard (15 minutes). Family outings might take you to Adrenaline Quarry (15 minutes), Porfell Wildlife Park & Sanctuary (20 minutes) or the famed domes of the Eden Project (half an hour). The museums of Plymouth (40 minutes) are another option – the National Marine Aquarium and The Box are good choices for damp days.
