Many folk who come to Cornwall seek a base for its north and south. And secluded is often an option too, given how popular the place is in the summer months. Add both those wants to splendid surroundings, a view over a grand valley, and the peace of the Cornish countryside… and you get Menallack Farm Caravan and Camping Site. The owners rightfully point out that this is a very pretty part of Cornwall – and the site's rightly pretty too, set over two scenic acres with a nature walk down its valley, through Bluebell Wood and to a stream at the valley's bottom. Firepits are available near the pitching field and in the woods. There are also showers, toilets and a washing-up area. It's only two and a half miles from here to both Trebah Gardens and Glendurgan Gardens, three miles from the nearest beach, and within easy day trip distance of most towns, resorts and attractions on the north and south Cornish coasts. A farm shop two miles away from Menallack Farm stocks a good range of local fruit and veg, free-range meat and poultry, bread, Cornish milk, butter and cream, homemade pasties, pies, cakes and quite a bit more. Beyond that, Falmouth is four miles away for supermarkets and the like.

Liked Good water pressure in the shower that was open. Nice inland view.

Disliked Nobody on site or instruction on arrival. The wash room had no power, electricity at times so had to leave the door open.

Liked Nice grass pitch with water close by, nice area to explore.

Disliked Cabin bathrooms were nice and clean, older toilet block was rather average, chemical loo disposal point rather basic but functional.

Camping pod

Liked Off season so super quiet, had to wait on arrival for the badger to snuffle off our parking spot!! The hut was perfect, warm, comfy and well equipped. If you like campsites where atmosphere and cost are more important than neatness and underfloor heating then well worth a visit.

Liked Peaceful location, clean facilities, wifi when working was good. Didn't use the shower but kitchen area was reasonable. Foxes around. The owner and daughter were on hand in the morning and were helpful in talking about the area.

Disliked The facilities looked tired but this is reflected in a cheaper site fee. The wifi is a heath robinson affair, easily meddled with by campers.

Liked Nothing

Disliked Site is in poor condition, toilet blocks need attention. Grass way too long. Abandoned cars on site. A good half an hour walk along a quite busy road with no pathway to bus stop. Poor communication, phoned owner for pitch number, whick was unsuitable for a motorhome, it would have taken the bottom out, had to phone again before anyone turned up to assist us.
