What customers say
This family-friendly campground is in a beautiful riverside spot, with guests loving the roomy sites, clean washrooms, and helpful staff. Perfect for families with little ones thanks to the playground and games room. Planes from Heathrow are sometimes heard but usually not a problem. Easy access to London and local sights is a big plus.

So many reasons not to camp here. Choose the most annoying from list.
Primitive grass campsite
Liked Nothing much. Close to river.
Disliked Lots of very strict rules, some not communicated in advance. Cars cannot stay onsite, campervans can. You have to move your car to a carpark. They didn't tell me any if this. I was at a local pub and they wanted me to return to move my car. Aircraft from Heathrow pass directly over site at low altitude, evey couple of minutes until 12.30am start again at 6am. Fine if you cant hear i guess. Others expect 5.5hrs sleep. Arrival time is strictly 2pm. There is a long line of cars processed one at a time, this is ridiculous. Pitches are allocated by team, you don't get to choose. If you are lucky you won't be by the toilet block or the road.

Primitive grass campsite
Liked Friendly staff. Easy location to escape from (or get to) London. Kids play area was a hit with our 5 year old. Facilities were great for what we needed. It's wonderful to have the river so close.
Disliked Heathrow flight path wasn't quite as bad as I'd feared from other reviews, but I did appreciate my ear plugs from about 5am.

Facilities very clean
Lots of toilets & showers
Staff friendly & helpful
Great for plane watching as you're right under the flight path
Disliked The planes going right overhead, after just taking off, will wake you, this might not be what you want. Music played from main facilities building was quite loud & although it was turned down as the night went on it was still playing way past 9.30pm. There seems to be no curfew for the kids playground, they were still on there (right in the centre of the site) shouting & screaming gone 11pm. Not a quiet site, but great for families who want to sit up to the early hours
