  • Superbly located Surrey campsite with easy motorway access
  • Thorpe Park, Windsor Castle and Legoland Windsor within 30 mins' drive
  • On the banks of the River Thames, with Thames Path access
What a handy camping spot this is… Laleham Camping Club has easy access to the M3 and M25 motorways, it’s close to Heathrow airport and Staines railway station is only about 10 minutes’ drive away for easy jaunts to the capital. On top of all that, there are all sorts of attractions within easy reach, including Thorpe Park, Chessington World of Adventures, Windsor Castle and Legoland Windsor. And if that all sounds a bit exhausting, it’s good to know that the location within London’s protected Green Belt means you’ll have peaceful surroundings for relaxing on site. The River Thames runs alongside, giving you access to the Thames Path for walks and bike rides, or to the water for kayaking, paddleboarding and swims. The nearest major urban centre is Staines, accessible by car, bus or a walk along the riverbank and with a good collection of shops and restaurants, plus a cinema. Closer to home, Laleham village is 10 minutes’ stroll away, and has a convenience store and a choice of three pubs. The folk that run this Surrey site haven’t just relied on their location, though – they’ve made sure the place is a comfortable place to stay, with a good number of facilities including a launderette, free hot showers and handy extras including hairdryers and shaver points. Chillout time is well spent here too – there’s a small play park with sandpit in the centre of the site, and a wet-weather room with Sky TV, a pool table, table tennis and a dartboard. Next door in Laleham Park there’s an outdoor gym, a bigger play park and plenty of space to play games or walk dogs.

What customers say

This campground offers a lovely riverside setting, with guests loving the value and super helpful staff. Big, clean sites, tons of kid activities (playground, games room!) and close to theme parks and the city. Heathrow planes are a bit noisy, but most folks found it okay. Showers could use an update and no shop onsite.

Power optional grass campsite

Hunde willkommen.

Disliked Der Flugverkehr kann etwas stören. Keine direkte Anbindung an öffentliche Verkehrsmittel.

Liked Loved it here and so did the kids, we had an amazing time, the member of staff tried to get me a pitch close to where I wanted it so was very helpful. The showers were not far or the toilets or washing area which was very handy. There is a nice play bit where my kids made friends every evening which was lovely too. We stopped here to do the theme parks we are new to camping but my fave campsite to date. I will be back probably next year to do the same again. Just missing a swimming pool 🏊‍♀️

There is also a lovely boating lake next to this campsite if we stayed longer and weather was nicer we prob would have also checked that out.

Disliked You can’t park your car it is very hard to lug all our stuff back and forth being a mum on my own with 3 kids we also had a blue badge so some days were more stressful than others overall this is the only big thing that would make me debate coming back or not.

I am also sure the booking said there is WiFi but didn’t see any option in using any WiFi signal wasn’t an issue though but would have been helpful for my toddlers tablet as was annoying connecting her to my hotspot all the time :)

Liked Location was great. Felt very close to nature. Showers were spacious and good hot water flow although there was a definite smell of damp.

Disliked Slightly overpowering employee telling us where to locate within our space. Sure we can make that decision for ourselves. Reception guy was great.

Primitive grass campsite

Liked The location was great. Stayed overnight before the rugby league challenge cup final at Wembley. The site is about an hour drive away in a really nice setting. Spotlessly clean and good facilities. Next to the river Thames if paddle boarding is your thing. Small games room and volley ball / footy pitch on site with a decent public play area just outside the main gate. Would stay again.

Disliked The showers in both the men's and women's toilets were little more than a dribble.

Power optional grass campsite

Liked Really lovely campsite, the staff were very attentive and clearly directed you to your pitch explaining how to set yourselves up. The little shop on site had everything you could need; it was well kept with lots of lovely outside equipment for the kids to play with. Well kept site and enough space to not feel on top of each other.

Disliked Not so much as a dislike, but the showers were very poor, hardly any pressure or even water came through. Perhaps it might have been the time I went there were lots of others using them, but on a couple of occasions this wasn't the case. They were reasonably clean but the ability to have a good wash (especially with long hair) proved to be quite tricky. Often there was a lack of toilet paper (despite a lot of toilets available).
