  • Grass pitches at a 21-acre farm site in the Weald of Kent
  • A 10-minute drive from Headcorn Aerodrome and Sissinghurst Castle
  • Quiet site with ponds on site; two miles from High Halden and A28
Brickhouse Farm has grass pitches within the grounds of a farm in the Weald of Kent two miles from the village of High Halden, and about 15 minutes’ drive from Ashford. Accessed via a quiet country lane but close to the A28, this is a site that’s part of a 21-acre farmstead made up of pastureland and fishing ponds. At the centre of the property is a Grade II listed farmhouse, and there’s also a classic Kentish barn on site along with an assortment of farm buildings. The pitches here are simple in style but with access to water, a cesspit and a toilet and shower block that’s been done up to a very high standard. Barbecues are permitted (pick up supplies 10 minutes away on Tenterden’s lovely high street) and the area’s peppered with pubs catering for all tastes, styles and price levels. It’s easy to fill your days with fresh air around here – there are plenty of places to stroll or cycle in the nearby High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and a couple of golf courses within a few minutes’ drive. If you’re feeling brave perhaps fling yourself out of a plane at Headcorn Aerodrome; if not, perhaps sampling the wine at the local vineyard would be more your style. Other days out? Maybe gorgeous Leeds Castle, a shopping spree at Ashford’s designer outlets or a big cat encounter at an animal park? Or of course you could head down to Ashford and jump on the high-speed train for a trip to London – the capital’s only about 35 minutes away.

What customers say

Brickhouse Farm is a tranquil, scenic rural getaway with roomy, flat pitches among ponds and trees. Guests rave about the spotless facilities, especially showers and washrooms, and owner Gill's welcoming, helpful nature and local tips. Great spot for exploring nearby attractions. Mostly stellar reviews, with a few minor notes on phone charging and fire pit rental fees.

Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked '21 acre farm' but if you ask to stay more than about five metres from the toilet you are told if you want more space 'i can rent you a whole field'.

Disliked I have voted 9 stars not to impact overall rating but my experience when checking in was awful and i would 100% not go back.

Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked As first time campers, this site proved to be an excellent choice. Level pitches, beautiful surroundings, peace and relaxation, happy times spent feeding the fish in the ponds. Good, clean toilet and shower facilities and daily chats with friendly owner Gill made this break a truly pleasant experience. Looking forward to a return visit shortly. Would definitely recommend Brickhouse Farm.

Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked Large, peaceful and flat site in lovely surroundings. I pitched next to some old oak trees for shade. Watched a beautiful sunset and saw herons and buzzards overhead. Easy reach of washing facilities and had good showers. Friendly owner checked in with me each day. Handy location for lots of local attractions, including the towns of Tenterten, Cranbrook and places of interest like Sissinghurst, which was a great day out.

Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked The warm greeting from Gill made it all the more worth staying. The land is very spacious and plenty of room to pitch up. Plenty of facilities to wash and to use the bathroom including clean showers. Wood and fire pits available. A few giant ponds with beautiful fishies. Me and my little daughter Will definitely be returning very soon for another stay! Pitch black at night and sat up watching the stars for hours without any light pollution.

Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked We had an absolutely amazing time at Brickhouse Farm. First time camping with family of 6 with a baby. Gill the owner was so lovely, accommodating and made us all feel welcome. The site is in this beautiful 21 acre farm and will only take 20 pitches, which we love as we don’t want to camp in a crowded site. We picked our pitch under a big oak tree. It was just perfect and we had tons and tons of space just for us. So peaceful, secluded, quick drive to the supermarkets, has garbage disposal, washing up facilities, clean hot showers, toilets and more. Such good value for money! It was beyond our expectations/better than we expected. It had everything we could wish for. We were very sad we had to leave and we cant wait to come back!

Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked Brickhouse Farm is a magical place - it's beautiful, peaceful and utterly charming. Waking up next to a pond with exotic fish and waterlilies for £11 a night is a special kind of treat. The facilities are a cut above the rest you usually find on campsites and even on a fairly busy bank holiday weekend, everyone had plenty of space to stretch out and I didn't observe any queues at the washrooms. Jill is an angel, who made me feel very welcome and was always around to give recommendations for things to do in the local area. There are plenty of hedges offering windbreaks and all pitches are completely level. I couldn't recommend a site more!
