If you like a real taste of your surroundings while on a break, you’ll likely be very happy with your lot if you stay at Wild Oak Farm. This Isle of Wight farm site has off-grid pitches that are fabulous for a quiet rural experience, and both barbecues and campfires are allowed. Between the village of Wootton and the island’s main town, Newport, this pop-up site makes a peaceful place for an Isle of Wight retreat, soaking up views of the surrounding fields, taking walks along rural footpaths and wandering through the farm’s woodland. You’ll also be able to meet the farm's herd of Belted Galloway cattle, and you may be able to time your stay to coincide with one of the Sunflower Days, when guests can wander through the blooming field for pretty photo ops and flower picking. You’ll no doubt want to stop at the honesty shop when you feel peckish, or when you have a spare moment, browse the antiques shop. Facilities are fairly simple at this pop-up site, but you’ll have access to a portable toilet and drinking water in the field.

This peaceful campsite has lots of space and a "wild camping" vibe. Friendly, helpful hosts, beautiful and basic facilities. The sunflower field and coffee shop exceeded expectations. Great for a quiet getaway; guests loved the cattle and one called it their most peaceful stay.

Liked Only us and another camper van in the whole field.

As close to wild camping as you can legally get.

Ride your bike up the hill to the pub and roll back down after.

Disliked The westher rolled in and it poured with rain so we didnt get to appreciate the dark skies.

Liked We had a lovely stay. The hosts were amazing, campsite was as expected, however the sunflower field and coffee shop were above expectation.

The belted Galloways were amazing my partner loved them, we were very lucky to be able to got and feed/stroke them.

We will definitely be back!
