What customers say
This natural, peaceful campsite offers a back-to-nature glamping experience with excellent, well-equipped facilities including a field kitchen, clean washrooms, and hot showers. Hot tubs and fire pits are popular additions. Pitches are spacious, maintaining a sense of privacy. While many praise the eco-friendly ethos and tranquil setting, some visitors found the compost toilets basic, and noted occasional issues with grass length and path maintenance. The site is easily accessible by public transport.

Lovely glamping stay, kids didn’t want to go home!
Western Edge bell tent (hot tub)
Liked Absolutely loved having access shared kitchen and cooking equipment. Great open space for kids to play, they loved the hammock and swings and goals. Hot shower for morning was great. Fire pit for cooking was excellent. Wood fired hot tub was brilliant. Host Pete was fab, showed us around and how to work the tub and then left us to it - lovely micro green salad that we ate with our dinner first night. Easy to find. Great location for exploring the forest and the sea side. Lovely and quiet. Gave us a real chance to unplug and unwind and just spend time playing and exploring together as a family. Would def return.

Western Edge bell tent (hot tub)
Liked A really lovely spot. Pete and family have done a nice job with a lot of thought behind it. It was comfortable with pretty much everything you could need. The kitchen was well stocked, including a high chair. The bed was comfortable and they provided extra mattresses for kids.
The location was good, a short enough (but bumpy) rides away from the coast at Lymington and Burton on Sea, and from the forest. There's also a fantastic pub just down the road.
Disliked Not much to say here - very little to fault! We were there for the hottest day of the year so far, so could have done with a fan

A great wild get away made easy by bell tent and great facilities.
Western Edge bell tent (hot tub)
Liked Lovely peaceful location, very natural but practical. We stayed for my son's 15 birthday, 3 adults and 4 teenagers. Loos and showers great, bell tent perfect. Field Kitchen made it all so much easier. So great to be able to have campfire and doubled up as BBQ. Booked hot tub in advance and then booked sauna (separate to farm) on the day. Had a great evening!
Disliked Nothing.

A wonderful campsite with great hosts!
Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked The whole setup is just stunning. A large field, with only a handful of pitches meant everyone had their own space and never felt overlooked. The wood burning hot tubs are a stroke of genius and all the facilities are in great condition. We'll definitely be back in the future!
Disliked Nothing! It was perfect.

Western Edge bell tent (hot tub)
Liked We had a lovely stay in the Bell tent, the bed was so comfortable and there was room for us and our 2 children. The kitchen was a great size and had pretty much everything you needed (basics). The field is beautiful and close to milford on Sea which is a lovely village with a beautiful beach.

Quiet and clean, accessible by public transport
Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked Having a kitchen was fantastic! So well equipped, with lots of thought clearly having gone in to what things people might need. It really did feel like glamping to be able to use a kettle, toaster and fridge, and eat meals at a proper table and chairs!
Our toddler also loved the pigs, especially saying night night to them! The natural 'playground' at the back of the site was a really nice touch, too. There are horses along the footpath across the road from the site - toddler was very excited to see 'big cows' ('they're horses' 'yes, horse. Big cow!') and the path is nice for a stroll. There's a map showing the route to walk to the local pub, it looked like maybe a 30 minute walk.
Lots of sinks with drinking water around the site made it easy to wash hands and get a drink near the pitch, which saved time.
We travelled on public transport to the site, and were delighted to find that the bus stop is literally at the entrance. Very easy and a good base for exploring if you don't have a car! The kitchen also makes it more manageable as you don't need to bring any cooking things (though I didn't spot plates or bowls). Tesco delivers to the site, along with multiple local takeaways, so you don't need to bring food either.
Disliked The compost loos are 'short-drop' so you are very close to other people's poo. Clean and well kept, but much more of an in-your-face compost experience than other campsites we have used!

Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked We felt as if we had the whole campsite to ourselves. There were four young children in our group who all enjoyed the freedom to play and explore! The facilities were excellent and very generous. Would strongly recommend.

From the manager: Thanks, we try to keep things pretty gentle so that the natural environment has its space and people can connect with that... Really pleased it worked well for you, Pete
Overall brilliant place if you want nature and peace and quiet.
Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked I loved how close to nature it felt while enjoying facilities that made camping so much more enjoyable. From the website listing I was expecting wild camping and what we got was glamping! Friendly people, beautiful setting, quiet and peaceful. We just loved it.
The hot tub made the experience brilliant.
Disliked Tiny tiny little improvements could be made, like providing more compost for the loo (a larger bin or refilled daily), or the shower curtain being inside the shower tray rather than dripping onto the floor, and providing a peeler in the kitchen. But these aren't dislikes. It is perfectly adequate as it is.
One thing that we do think was lacking was a regular safety inspection of the paths to fill in animal holes. The path leading from car park to kitchen has an ankle breaker on it.
We were there with only one other family on site, so the kitchen and loos were the perfect size. However, if all 11 pitches were occupied, there wouldn't be enough parking, loos, or fridge space in my opinion.

From the manager: Glad you loved it, we defiantly want it to feel like you're in a comfortable, but wild space too. We only allow up to max 6 pitches, but as you found, usually we keep it quieter than that - so as you found, facilities are usually much more than needed. Great to have you here, Pete
