Hedgehog 1 bedroom camping pod (four person)

Liked It was amazing, we are a family of 4 and took our dog with us. It was EXACTLY the peaceful holiday we all needed and would love to come back again. We took more things with us than was needed, towels and kitchen appliances were all at our disposal and we couldn’t have asked for better. It was like a fairy getaway for the whole family to enjoy with a shed filled with activities and board games. I’d 10000% would recommend

Disliked It is a bit of a struggle getting there but there are signs EVERYWHERE so kinda hard to miss :)

Fox 2 bedroom cabin (six person, no pets)

Liked I really enjoyed my stay – everything was clean, cozy, and just as expected. The only thing I didn’t like is that you pay for a “full night,” but in reality, it’s only 19 hours. Check-in is in the afternoon, and check-out at 10am feels way too early. Would be great to have a later check-out or a full 24-hour stay, especially for the price.

Squirrel 1 bedroom camping pod (four person, no pets)

Liked Absolutely lovely place, loved the privacy and the space to play games! The hot tub was lovely and the bed was extremely comfy, didn’t want to get up! The kitchen and bathroom had everything we needed and the robes and slippers were the perfect additional touch.

Disliked The only downside was we kept the doors open when cooking to stop the fire alarm going off and ended up with about 10 flies we couldn’t get out. Potentially a fly net or beads on the doors so the door can stay open and stop so many flies coming in.

Owl 1 bedroom camping pod (four person, no pets)

Liked The amenities included were superb, would definitely do it again perhaps bringing the family across multiple pods, lots of activities to do included in the shed, hot tub was great albeit a little difficult to get to right temperature 🌡

Disliked Bbq lid was broken, wasps galore, wood fired hot tub was bit of a headache to get to right temperature, was either way too hot or ice cold

Fox 2 bedroom cabin (six person, no pets)

Liked Having 3 children ranging from 4-14 it’s often hard to find something they all enjoy but we found it at Wimbish! Treasure hunts around the farm, our own garden full of games, hot tub with stunning views. Every little detail has been thought about and everything you could need is available. As soon as we left all 3 kids asked when we could go back! We can’t wait to join you again.

Local attractions

Have a potter around pretty Saffron Walden (10 minutes’ drive), with its medieval cottages and brightly painted half-timbered Tudor houses, unusual indie shops and Victorian gardens for when you need a breather. There’s more history in Cambridge (40 minutes), with its ancient soft-stone university colleges, punting on the River Cam and arty attractions – maybe make time to visit the Fitzwilliam Museum and Kettle’s Yard. On holiday with the kids? Check out the sea lion displays, big cats and chimps at Colchester Zoo, or encounter life-size animatronic dinosaurs at Paradise Wildlife Park (both 55 minutes). Combine family strolls in Capability Brown-designed gardens with a tour of the Victorian-era kitchens and dairy at Audley End House and Gardens (40 minutes), and then treat well-behaved youngsters to a ride on Audley End Miniature Train (15 minutes). Head off any groans if you hit a rainy day by making for the trampolines at Jump Street Chelmsford (45 minutes), or take a couple of turns around the rink at Cambridge Ice Arena (40 minutes).
