Awful, avoid at all costs
Primitive grass and earth tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked It had warm showers and a clean toilet block, there was a communal fridge and a good washing up area
Disliked Pretty much everything else....this was probably the worst campsite I've stayed at. The service (when available) was akin to someone doing me a favour by even turning up.....also the times that the 'shop' was advertised as open weren't applicable to weekdays it would seem.
This was essentially a field next to a really busy road that was at least 5 miles from anywhere. Normally I'd relish being so remote however there was absolutely no foot access anywhere. One of the ladies that worked here told me there was a direct path to Battle woods behind my pitch, I'd encourage her to walk along it so she can see for herself the path is completely inaccessible about 3 minutes in. The car was required for every nearby location of which there were few if you had a dog. Also the noise of the traffic was 24 hrs.
The grounds themselves were poorly cared for and there were what looked like building materials under my pitch and massive craters in the ground. There was a tent peg with a can of strongbow on it marking out a pile of dog poo, a kids plaster, the kids area had litter in it and the planters about the site looked like they'd been left to rot.
There was a caravan that looked abandoned and the chalets/pods looked pretty sketchy.
The whole place just made me quite depressed.....however I did get given a card for 10% off my next booking, which is clearly to try and get repeat custom. Sorry ladies the reason you may not have much repeat custom is because you clearly don't care about the experience your visitors have.

From the manager: Thanks for taking the time to leave your feedback. We’re really sorry to hear that your stay didn’t live up to your expectations.
It’s good to know you appreciated the showers, toilet block, and washing-up area, but we’re genuinely disappointed that so many other parts of your visit left you feeling let down. That’s definitely not the experience we aim to provide.
We’re looking into the issues you raised – from the path to Battle Woods (which we’ve had positive comments on before, so we’ll double-check its condition).
The shop hours — they do vary a bit during quieter periods, but we’ll work on making that clearer so it doesn’t catch anyone off guard.

Liked Best campsite I have been too ! Very friendly and welcoming staff with great facilities! Toilets open all night long and even a communal fridge ! Not to mention the shop , showers (very clean !) AND the washing up basins ! Can pitch up your tent wherever you like and great vibes all weekend ! And only 10 mins from Hastings beach ! Primitive grass and earth tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked Lovely place, clean facilities and handy shop. Allowed fires and BBQS. Dog friendly. Great play area for kids. Really close to Battle Abbey.
Disliked Allows large groups - night one we were kept awake until 3am and second night until midnight. People driving around the campsite field with kids steering while other children playing. Also people speeding up and down the field driving to the shower block!! Great to have a site which is quite free and easy, but actually felt quite nervous about safety at this site due to the above. There could so easily have been an awful accident. There didn’t seem to be any rules or staff on site other than shop opening times. Unfortunately I wouldn’t book here again with my little one for this reason.

Great basic campsite but lack of respect from others let it down
Primitive grass and earth tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked Location, shower and toilet facilities
Friendly atmosphere
Disliked There seemed to be no enforcement of noise curfew so both nights I was kept awake (or woken at 2am) by large groups
