What customers say
This popular site offers great views & a quiet stay. Expect super clean, modern washrooms. Owners are super friendly & helpful. Coffee/breakfast van's a hit! Some pitches are windy/hilly, so pick carefully. Motorcyclists might find the electronic gate tricky.

Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked Me and my friend have just come home from a 1 night stay and all I can say is WOW! What a beautiful camp site. The views are absolutely stunning. The owners are so helpful and friendly. Martyn helped with our tent as we were struggling and made sure we were ok. Scarbucks in the morning for a brew and a croissant what a lovely little touch! We will definitely be returning! Thank you so much x

Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked We booked this campsite to test out our new camping set up and it was a perfect spot to do so. We only stayed for 1 night but definitely could've stayed longer. The location is breathtakingly stunning and the site as a whole was perfect. From arriving at the gate we were greeted by the lovely couple who run the place. They explained where we could pitch and gave us a tip to pitch near the crag face as it was more sheltered and this was definitely a good call. The site was very peaceful and the facilities were immaculate. We would highly recommend this site to anyone thinking about booking a stay.

Liked Comfy beds in in a spacious bell tent. Lovely coffee & croissants every morning! Toilets/shower blocks are kept clean and the fridge freezer is helpful for campers. Anne & Martyn are generous and easy going, along with their gorgeous dogs Red & Zeus. The site is peaceful with beautiful views. This was our second stay and we can't wait for our third!

Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked This camp site was so peaceful and with scenic sea views
Grounds were kept ideal for campers!
Shower block was outstanding and gets a 10 out of 10👏👏
Also the perfect addition of “scar bucks” for coffees and buttys
I found was a really nice touch and well recommended!
Access in and out of the site by NPR made me feel my camp was well
Protected when I was out!
Disliked I do have to mention the 2 dogs although very friendly
Going into my tent on regular basis was not ideal,
I’m sure this could be worked on?

A lovely site with friendly staff…
Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked A lovely site with friendly staff and the fanciest looking facilities I've ever seen on a campsite. The location with views out over Morecambe bay is wonderful, there's plenty of flat spots despite the gentle overall slope of the site. Note, the ground is very hard so bring a mallet!
The little popup breakfast van on site (Scarbucks!) was great, especially as there's nothing else nearby really. It would be quite nice if there was a little shop on site, perhaps something the owners could consider?
Good phone service on site.
Disliked They have a fancy electronic gate with numberplate recognition which I'm sure is great if you arrive by car, it is however not very motorcycle friendly and meant I didn't feel confident going out in the evening as if no one was around to open it for me I'd have potentially have been locked out of the site. Having a code or something to open the gate would be really beneficial as it's a super site otherwise.

From the manager: Hi, thank you for your comments, glad you enjoyed your stay. We shall certainly look into the number plate recognition. My brother is a motor cyclist & he recommends a camera to see the rear of tithe bike , which we shall certainly look into .
Thanks again Anne
A gem of a campsite
Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked We had a wonderful weekend camping at Scar Close. The site is very well run, the facilities are amazing and immaculately clean. The views from our tent over to Morecambe Bay are stunning. We particularly enjoyed the coffee and bacon sandwich from Scarbucks. We look forward to returning very soon.
