General

  • Peaceful no-frills farm site just by the Lancashire coast
  • A 15-minute drive to Lancaster and half an hour to Blackpool
  • Handy stopover for the M6, 10 minutes away; dogs welcome

Sandvilla Farm Wild Camping is a friendly site on a working farm close to the Lancashire coast, about 15 minutes’ drive south of Lancaster.

With easy access to the M6 (about 10 minutes away) this site makes a most handy stopover point for those on long journeys north or south. It’s worth hanging around a little longer if you can, though – there’s plenty to see and do here, with lots of walks along the coast or in the Forest of Bowland and day trips to Blackpool, Morecambe and the Lake District to be had (and a good handful of independent pubs to dine or drink in too…)

It’s a fairly laidback setup here, but it's not completely wild camping, as you'll have access to a toilet block and a washing-up area. There’s also a warm shower – but that’s specifically for hosing down any muddy dogs (you’ll have to hand over 50p to use it but no doubt your mutt will love it). When not being washed, dogs should stay on a lead at all times (this is a farm, after all) and their doings placed in the bins provided.

Wild and basic camping field, friendly farm - perfect.09/21/2020

Everything you need for a Wild camping experience: toilet block nearby the field with small hand basins, access to water and a 'shower for dogs'! The camping is on a grassy field alongside the working farm (sadly you can hear the road nearby but it is quiet enough at night). Helen was very helpful and welcoming and explained where the local walks could be found. Beaches at Pilling Sands and Cockerham Sands are a short drive away. 360 views - great for star gazing!

Was a great campsite, perfect location to drive for days out to Blackpool or the Lakes, the toilets were very clean and just what was needed. Being able to park next to our tents was perfect. The campsite was a good size and was a great experience of wild camping, it was exactly as advertised. Would definitely stay again.

Really liked the individual feel of the site, quiet and friendly, with superb views. Wild camping means camping without mod cons which was great as you only come here if you truly love camping not just to have a staycation. Basic toilets is all you need and hot water to do dishes, all boxes ticked. A paving slab for firepit to be put on. Simple camping at its best, with the camp owners and dogs being so friendly. Great place

Lovely quiet site within easy traveling distance of bigger places and the coast. Facilities are basic,as it suggests with wild camping, but perfectly adaquate for a few days stay. The toilet block was always clean and well lit and stocked. My mum and I loved it and will definitely consider staying in the future.
