Gorgeous location, kind and welcoming hosts,…
Shepherd's hut
Liked Gorgeous location, kind and welcoming hosts, and really nice accommodation - just what we needed as an antidote to the heatwave. We’d driven up from Bristol so our EV needed a charge, and the hosts were happy to help us run an extension cable out to the car.
We spent our weekend exploring the Pennine Way and heading into Manchester for Sparkle in the gay village and then Robyn’s show at Co-Op Live. The hut was really well connected for all of this and urban activity while still giving us so much peace and tranquility.
Would strongly recommend and would absolutely go and visit again.

We had a wonderful stay in…
Shepherd's hut
Liked We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful shepherd's hut. Although it's located on the homeowners' land, it felt incredibly private and secluded, with stunning fields surrounding us that made it so peaceful and relaxing.
The hut itself was cosy, spotlessly clean, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Beryl was such a warm, welcoming, and helpful host, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. A special mention also goes to her husband, whose craftsmanship is truly impressive, he has built a fabulous little shepherd's hut that's full of charm and character.
We would highly recommend this as the perfect getaway if you're looking to stay near Manchester while enjoying the feeling of being miles away from the hustle and bustle of the city. We'd happily stay again!

The privacy of the site -…
Shepherd's hut
Liked The privacy of the site - despite this being on the site of a farm it was private and in its own setting.
The hut had everything it needed and nothing that it didn't. We were able to get away from things and have a relaxed time in a lovely environment.
The owners were attentive but left us to ourselves after sharing how we could get in touch with them if we needed anything.
The firepit was a lovely touch and kept us warm outside - I would definitely return here.

Shepherd's hut
Liked Loved the peace and tranquility and so cosy! Dave & Beryl were so lovely and hospitable and the little extra touches in the fridge were welcomed, thank you. Loved the Bee theme too 🐝
So happy that we saw deer on the morning that we left.
Disliked Not a huge fan of the portapotti but we only booked it last minute as we were already in the area so it was ok for just the one night.
It’s a shame that one has to drive through a building site to reach the hut but Beryl did give us advance notice so we were prepared!
