What customers say
This campsite earns high marks for its gorgeous views, helpful staff, and spotless facilities (showers are warm!). Guests love the roomy spots, peaceful setting, and closeness to pubs and trails. Cool converted cattle trailer showers are a highlight. Most reviews are glowing, though a few note uneven pitches, minor noise, and basic facilities. Management is responsive.

Overall pretty good, but a shame about other guests ruining it..
Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked Views and facilities. Max was welcoming and helpful. Firepit friendly and additional wood if needed
Disliked A group that camped next to the quiet section were anything but quiet.. the 10 O'clock curfew apparently didn't apply to them on the Friday night.. Loud voices and music till gone 3am.. Considering there was a loud section, it would have been helpful if they went there instead of keeping everyone else awake..

Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked This was our second stay here, and it definitely won’t be our last. We absolutely love this campsite. The location is stunning, the atmosphere is so relaxed, and we really like how simple it is while still having everything you need. The communal fridge and freezer are a brilliant addition, the views are beautiful, and the young man we saw around the site was friendly and more than happy to help whenever needed.
Disliked We really hate to mention any negatives because we love this campsite so much, but compared with our visit last year, it felt like things had slipped slightly. It was a shame that the pizza van wasn’t there this time, and there seemed to be fewer portable toilets available.
Our biggest concern was the cleanliness of the toilets, which really could have done with a thorough scrub. The showers were generally fine but weren’t quite as clean as we remembered from last year, and on one morning they ran cold, although we’re happy to put that down to a one-off issue during our stay.
We also noticed there wasn’t the same staff presence as there was last year. Previously there was a member of staff based in the hut, and it felt like there was always someone around keeping an eye on things. This year, a few people were letting their dogs off lead despite the rules, and unfortunately some owners weren’t picking up after them. Having that visible staff presence again would really help with issues like this.
These comments are only meant as constructive feedback because we genuinely love staying here and would happily recommend it to others. We’d hate to see the standards, particularly around cleanliness, continue to slip. We can’t wait to come back and really hope to see it back to the exceptionally high standard we experienced on our first visit.

Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked Really good views, nice welcome, clean facilities, extensive recycling, warm showers.
Disliked Antisocial behaviour after 10:30pm. Was lots of groups blasting loud music until early hours, smoking, swearing tor bugger all sleep. We did stay on a saturday night which might be a bit of a gathering spot with folk from Burnley, so would recommend if you want quiet maybe go on a Sunday or weekday.
