  • Peaceful adult-only glamping huts in a quiet Cumbria location
  • Close to the Scottish border, 10 minutes' drive from Gretna Green
  • Private hot tub, firepit and ensuite bathroom for each hut
Being so close to the border, you’ll be in a prime position for all sorts of activities in both Scotland and England when you stay at Low Moor Head Caravan Park. This Cumbria site is about a mile and a half from Longtown, in a handy location for heaps of different attractions, including Hadrian’s Wall, Gretna Green and the hiking trails of both the Lake District National Park and Northumberland National Park. Fishing, horse riding, paintballing and mountain biking are among the activities to choose from nearby – although you’re equally welcome if you’d rather simply take it easy with gentle strolls, a bit of landscape photography and perhaps a couple of drinks in nearby village pubs. The glamping huts here are part of a quiet caravan park, and they’re set up for adults only so you can expect a lovely peaceful space for a romantic retreat with your beloved, away from kids, pets and other distractions. It’s a really pretty part of the country, and you’ll wake up to fabulous views of Geltdale, Tindale and the northern fells of the Lake District, plus the woodlands and countryside immediately around the site. You’ll be staying in a cosy wooden structure with a cosy bed made up, a TV and a kitchenette with fridge, cooker, kettle and toaster. Each one also has a woodburning stove and an ensuite bathroom, plus lots of little extras like towels, dressing gowns and slippers. You’ll be needing those gowns and towels too, because there’s a private wood-fired hot tub outside each hut… Dinner can be a romantic setup as well, as there’s a barbecue/firepit where you can get the grill going while the sun sets (or pick up takeaways in town if you’d prefer an easy life).

Borderlands camping pod (hot tub)

Liked The Pod was in a great spot with lovely views. It was spotless and had everything we needed just there. Adele was amazing too and helped out with everything. The little things like helping with the fire for the hot tub and the birthday card for my partner was really nice. It has been one of our favorite getaway locations and we would go back in a heartbeat.

Reiver's Retreat shepherd's hut (hot tub)

Liked Me and my girlfriend have just spent the loveliest weekend there in the Shepherds hut. Fantastic views, great location with plenty of restaurants and places to visit nearby. The facilities were amazing, lovely and clean in the pod, the wood fire hot tub was fantastic and very relaxing. The owners spoiled us, providing lots of goodies, and were very warm and welcoming, we cannot wait to come back to try the other pod as well as the lodge that they provide, thankyou!

Borderlands camping pod (hot tub)

Liked What an amazing stay away from home! This lovely site had everything and more. We stayed in one of the glamping pods and was blown away the minute we walked in. The pod itself was stunning and the hot tub was absolutely beautiful. The views that accompanied the pod also incredibly stunning. The hosts, unbelievably helpful and provided us a complementary breakfast pack as well as eggs, beans, bread, biscuits and even fresh milk and orange juice!. The pod was spotless and as previously mentioned incredible. Hope to be back soon!
