  • Hollows Farm campsite is on a Lakeland hill farm
  • Traditional grass field campsite surrounded by woodland and rivers
  • Secluded down a private road in the Lake District National Park
Our campsite is open seasonally from Easter - October each year and is set in an idyllic location nestled in woodland alongside the river Derwent, with jaw dropping views of Castle Crag towering above the field. There are two fields to pitch your tents in, our Open Field is drive on and our Woodland Field is walk in (50m walk). Our campsite is ‘back to basics’ and has a toilet block (on the walk in woodland field), shower block (400m walk from camping fields), and large outdoor sinks for washing utensils etc. You will need your head torch to walk to the facilities when it's dark. There is a drinking water tap on the Open Field. Rates are £12.50 per adult per night, £6 per 4 - 12 yrs per night, under 4’s free. Dog friendly but please keep dogs on a lead at all times and clean up after them. No WIFI or electric power points, and limited cell service on the campsite, a good chance to connect with your surroundings and be in nature! NO BURNING WOOD PERMITTED. BRIQUETTE & CHARCOAL ONLY. FIREPITS and BBQS allowed IF OFF THE GRASS. Our toilet and shower facilities are basic, but the showers are hot and powerful.

Local attractions

We are located in the picturesque Borrowdale valley, surrounded by the National Nature Reserve's ancient Atlantic woodland. Borrowdale is in the north central region of the Lake District National Park. From our campsite there are a multitude of beautiful walks to explore; and the town of Keswick is a 10 minute drive away which has many restaurants, shops and attractions. . Enjoying the beautiful views form the campsite itself is what we love to do, and maybe even brave a swim in the river or venture up Castle Crag! Whilst camping with us you will have the opportunity to use the summertime bus that travels down Borrowdale (bus stop 1/2 mile walk from campsite), the bus can take you up Honister, to Buttermere or to Keswick.
