Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked Location, being close to a number of fells for hillwalking. Local pub serving decent food.
Disliked Inadequate check-in on arrival- when phone finally answered received brief and somewhat unclear instruction on where to pitch tent. Facilities poor and in need of refresh. Shower and toilet area not very clean and ran out of toilet paper more than once. Waste/recycling area overflowing with rubbish.

Nice quiet location…
Powered grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked Nice quiet location
Disliked I’m sorry though I must be really missing something or expecting too much. I found the facilities really tired and in need of a good shake up. Plumbing worked fine I think but there wasn’t anything appealing about the showers, toilets or wash up area. If it had been raining for any time the ground would’ve been a riot thankfully it was dry for my stay but evidence of a previous vehicle’s struggle in the mud. Owner seemed pleasant enough and appeared to do a quick security check around 10pm.

Lovely small, secluded campsite with decent, clean facilities.
Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked Small, quiet and secluded campsite. Basic but decent facilities regularly cleaned. Plenty of space. Great display every night by the roosting barn owls on the hunt.

Comfortable enough stay, get what you pay for!
Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked Peaceful and spacious/level pitching. Everyone staying on the site was respectful of eachother and the site. Very reasonably priced. In a great area 10/20 minute drives to plenty shops, gorgeous 40 min walk to Crummock Water. Down road from a great little family run pub that serves amazing food!
Disliked The showers/toilet area could do with a massive makeover. The showers worked great and were perfect temps but I personally felt a little uneasy using them because they wasn’t the most hygienic or clean. Although I do also understand it’s a camping site and very reasonably priced, so you get what you pay for!
