  • Peaceful setting overlooking the Cheshire Plain, close to Whitchurch
  • On National Cycle Route 47, and near Sandstone Trail walkers’ path
  • Within easy reach of pubs with gin nights and authentic curries
Looking for a peaceful spot where you don’t have to sacrifice the luxury of nearby pubs and restaurants? Head to Cheshire site Marbury Camp and Lodge, where you can look out over the Cheshire Plain by day and devour pub grub by night – the team on site can point you towards gin evenings and excellent curries… a winning combo after a day of exploring. Speaking of exploring, there are enough walks and bike routes around to ensure you get your fill of countryside. The site is right on a national cycle route so make sure you pack your bike helmet – the site owners can help with bike hire and a map of the local cycle routes too. If walking is more your thing you can link up with the Sandstone Trail for 34 miles of unbroken, and often elevated, walking. The outdoor adventures don’t stop there, as this place is a great base for golfing, shooting and fishing as well, with all found within around four miles of the site. Worn out just by reading the activities dotted around? There’s also plenty to do if you’re after a more chilled day. The nearby local market towns of Whitchurch (three miles away) and Nantwich (eight miles) have various market days and plenty of shopping, eating and drinking options. Supplies can also be sourced closer to home in the village of Wrenbury, a mile away. Site amenities include a shower block and chemical disposal, and there's also the option to hire firepits (subject to availability).

What customers say

A clean, peaceful campsite with great country views. Praise for spotless washrooms, roomy pitches, and welcoming owners. Ideal for a relaxing getaway with fire pits for rent & a dog field. Some would like a play area, occasional noise noted, but most plan to return.

Power optional grass tent campsite

Liked My son and I had an excellent experience during our stay at Marbury Camp and Lodge. The facilities were excellent with toilet and shower block cleaned throughout the day by David and Lucy. The standards were very high. Lucy was very helpful and professional. Both David and Emma have a family-friendly camp, which I can only imagine to get better and better. The site was well kept and the views were amazing. I was extremely impressed with Flarepits we used for the camp fires they were well stocked and designed for ease and safety in mind.
The camp grounds were well kept and safe for families of all ages.

Disliked I had no complaints in any shape or form so had no dislikes.

Power optional grass tent campsite

Liked The views, the location, the peacefulness. The toilet and shower block was spotless and had great showers.

Disliked The fire pit cost only including a certain amount of wood and having to buy more.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Hi Jenna thank you for the largely gleaming review. In response to the fire pit only having a certain amount of wood supplied, are you saying you want unlimited wood for £25? If so I’m afraid that’s not possible. Each bulk bag of wood costs somewhere between £70 and £110 per bag plus transportation plus re-bagging plus the cost of the 10kg bags plus the cost of the bag of kindling, the firelighters and the matches. This doesn’t also factor in the cost of cleaning and repairing the fire pits when people use them incorrectly and steal the pokers and padlocks. It also doesn’t include the manufacturing cost of the fire pits (we make them). Also bearing in mind that we are vat registered and don’t get 20% of the fee I’m not sure we could do it for a cheaper than we already do.
