  • Family camping in Cheshire with spectacular Delamere Forest views
  • Blakemere Village five minutes’ drive; Go Ape Delamere 10 minutes
  • Traditional pub and mini-farm on site; access to walks and bike rides
What’s not to love about this site? Forest View Inn Caravan Park has a mini-farm chock full of friendly animals just waiting to welcome your kids – and there’s something for the adults too, since the site has its own pub. Forest View Inn is set on the outer edges of Delamere Forest in Cheshire, so pitching up here also gives you access to all the forest’s walking and cycling routes. On this friendly, family-run camping and caravanning site, pitches are surrounded by seasonal wildflowers and come with spectacular forest views. The Forest View country pub is no more than a couple of minutes’ walk away. It opens for food from late afternoon during the week, and from lunchtime onwards at the weekend. Kids are welcome, and there’s always a traditional guest ale on tap and a nice selection of gins, plus wood-fired pizza on Thursdays. If the weather is playing ball, sit outside on the terrace, and if not, there’s plenty of seating inside. Of course the kids will want to meet the emus, chickens, pigs, goats and donkeys on the mini-farm too, so the chances are you won’t get to stay for long in the pub.

Local attractions

In addition to shops selling vintage items, collectables and sweets, Blakemere Village (five minutes’ drive) has hands-on raptor encounters at Cheshire Falconry, plus crafts workshops and self-guided segway tours. To wind down after all that activity, take a seat on the Sandiway Miniature Railway, which runs two loops through the forest. The aqua park at Wild Shore Delamere (five minutes) has floating inflatables where you can climb, slide, bounce and generally make like a ninja. Your ninja training continues on the Aqua Chimp, an adventure course with rope swings and ziplines. You can also take out a paddleboard or try wakeboarding here. If you like the idea of the Aqua Chimp, but would rather not fall in the water if you lose your grip, head to Go Ape Delamere (10 minutes), where you will be safely harnessed as you navigate treetop courses (one as high as 12 metres off the ground) and take in spectacular views of Delamere Forest.

What customers say

This campground has a friendly, laid-back vibe with great views and easy access to Delamere Forest. Guests loved the helpful staff, on-site pub, and the farm animals. While the washrooms are a bit dated, recent fixes have helped, and they're usually clean. Some folks found other campers noisy or had issues with site size/ground.

Primitive grass and earth tent campsite

Liked Was only planning to stay 2 nights, but ended up staying a week! Gorgeous site, really hot showers and electiricity, if you book it, for people in tents, like me. View was of Delamere forest, and the horses, pigs, goats and emus.... Nothing was too much trouble for anyone..... Owners and campers alike. Big shout out for mike, kaz, jane, matty, shelly, geoff, monica, lucas..... To name but a few. Will definitely be going back there. Thoroughly ghlt recommend. Alex xxx

Primitive grass and earth tent campsite

Liked Beautiful view
Friendly welcoming owner

Disliked Toilet block in poor condition, broken toilet seat in 1 cubical and no toilet roll on arrival, used our own after that!!
Kids on quad bike another on a dirt bike flying past our pitch all Saturday afternoon so close to us that our 2 dogs had to be put in the vehicle as they were petrified and miserable. Flying gravel and dirt is not what we wanted with lunch.
Spoke to the child in the dirt bike as he actually came pretty much in to our camp and asked him politely to not do it anymore as he was scaring the dogs 😐
The quad was up and down like a yo yo with the kid that was on the bike now in the trailer
And made a point of coming past our pitch over and over when we were at a dead end so there was no reason for them to come past us at all!!
Made it absolutely miserable for us to the point we stayed 1 night out of 3, packed up and left after that first day. Sad really as its a lovely location.

Primitive grass and earth tent campsite

Liked Animals on the farm are lovely, very friendly and well cared for.
Staff are very friendly and accommodating.
Gorgeous views.

Disliked Pitches are small, appeared like it was overbooked as tents were very close to each other. Lacked privacy.
Hard ground, hard to pitch tent in places.
Facilities lacking - no toilet paper or hand soap.
Bins overflowing on arrival, lots of wasps as a result.
States on description serves food however I was informed on arrival that this has not been the case since Covid so no cooking facilities were brought with us meaning we had to order food to the site.
Small selection of soft drinks in pub, very limited.
Unfortunately there was an altercation between two other camp groups which resulted in arguing from 23:30 until 01:30. They were eventually removed from the pitch however this took some time and was very noisy, lacking sleep and young children on campsite. I feel this went on for too long and should have been addressed earlier as these campers had also been removed from the site pub and allowed to stay longer.
Concerned incase further altercations and no gated area touches so parties would have been able to get back on to the pitch.
