  • Set in over 100 acres of countryside 10 minutes' drive from Nantwich
  • Café and picnic areas; access to walks along the towpath
Peaceful and scenic, Aqueduct Marina and Caravan Park is a prime destination for anyone who adores the countryside. Based on the Middlewich Branch of the Shropshire Union Canal in Church Minshull, the Cheshire park also has a great set of marina facilities. Visit the award-winning marina’s licensed café and picnic areas to unwind. Set on a 100-acre plot, guests can also watch the wildlife or take a walk along the towpath. There are also showers and 24-hour laundry facilities. For activities outside of the park, there are many shops, cafés and pubs in the market town Nantwich, which is a five-mile drive away. There’s also easy access to the M6 and the B5074 in Church Minshull. Families, couples, small groups and dogs are all welcome at the site.

This marina site offers spacious, level pitches and a peaceful atmosphere, praised for its cleanliness and friendly staff. Visitors enjoyed the marina setting, cafe, and nearby canal walks. Modern, clean washrooms are a highlight. Some noted issues with café hours, Wi-Fi signal on pitches, and limited on-site amenities. A few found it pricey, but many expressed a desire to return.

Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked Lovely big campsite, lots of pitches to chose from and quiet. Cafe was wonderful.

Disliked Shower and toilet facilities inadequate for the amount of people on site and consistently had water and loo roll on the floor and appeared to only be cleaned once a day

Primitive grass RV campsite

Liked Peaceful location and lots of space even on bank holiday weekend. Great Saturday afternoon entertainment and lovely to walk along the canal from the campsite.

Disliked Always a queue at toilet/shower facility. Could do with some separate toilets to showers. Didn't help that cleaning seemed to happen right at peak time in the morning.

Primitive grass RV campsite

Liked Just had a 3 night stay here on a non electric grass pitch (small campervan) . The camp fields are huge and we were very lucky that all other campers were very respectful and it was a very peaceful few days. We followed a canal walk from the booklet available in reception, hoping for a pub as the cafe closes at 8pm, but unfortunately it looks like the farmer may have removed the walking route markers as they disappeared as we reached a farm property. Unsure where to go and not wanting to trespass we headed back to the site. Wouldn't want to walk the road route due to no paths.

Disliked Needs more toilet/shower facilities, especially at the top of the camp fields. Cafe could do with more staff, nearly all tables had uncollected, dirty plates etc on them for a long time, encouraging wasps. Long wait for food considering it was quite a basic/easy menu.

Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked What a find !! Spent 3 nights and explored the area. On arrival it was easy to access the tent field, pitches were flat and loved that we could pitch where we wanted, loads of space, very nice clean and tidy field. Showers and toilets were great, cleaned regularly….. ok they can get a bit messy when wet but bring flip flops and no problems at all. Water always hot and plenty of loo roll, hand soap. Washing up facilities were always clean and tidy again loads of hot water. The grounds of the marina are well kept. Used the cafe for lunch and drinks on sat afternoon while listening to the music. 2 lovely pubs both walking distance if you like a walk. Staff were helpful and a big thanks to the lady on reception who told us about the walk to Church Minshull….. loved the walk into the village. Will definitely return

Disliked Disliked nothing really only that we had to leave

Powered gravel travel trailer campsite

Liked Marina, cafe, dog walks

Disliked Touring van area needs some TLC

Not enough waste bins

Toilets/showers need cleaning more frequently as the floors get filthy…..or put individual mop/buckets in each toilet/shower facility so visitors can clean as they go.

Primitive grass RV campsite

Liked The bathrooms were clean and the fields were great and well kept in a nice area

Disliked The cafe ruined the experience which will make sure we don’t return.. forgetting full orders twice between me and my friends, which would have been understandable but to then be followed up by terrible attitude from staff when asked where the meals were. Even getting to the point of having to show my bank payment to them to finally get my order and not getting a single apology.
We also got told entertainment was at 6 here which wasn’t true at all.
My friend also hired the teepee tents from here which are way overpriced, their “electrical access” is just a small power bank which often doesn’t work the fairy lights. This was an issue for most of the teepees barring one.

Powered gravel travel trailer campsite

Liked Sitting down, and watching the sun go down over the canal with a nice glass of wine.

Disliked The site has become very busy and noisy, kept awake on the first night due to our neighbours being loud well into the early hours.
There after the camping site in the back field was very noisy every night well into the early hours, every night we had to got to bed with the radio on or using ear plugs.

Also for the amount of people on site, there wasn't enough toilets and showers.

Liked Toilet and shower facilities were perfect.
Cafe food was delicious and catered for children.
Spacious field with flat pitches

Disliked Not dislikes, but recommendations..
Water points on camping field
Would be nice to be allowed a fire pit.

From the manager: Thanks for your kind words! We're so glad you enjoyed the facilities, café, and spacious pitches. We really appreciate your suggestions too – adding water points and considering fire pits are great ideas, and we’ll take them on board. Hope to see you again soon!

Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked Very good campsite. Toilet block was clean (though only comment was as they are wet rooms if showers has been used toilet area can become dirty with footprints - a squeegee would be good to allow it to be cleared up after shower).

But probably best toilet block on a campsite we have experienced.

Water was hot for washing up.

Marina cafe was lovely. Can buy bottles of beer also ther which was a bonus.
Afternoon a band was on which was nice.

Disliked Not to do with campsite but for information. We brought our bikes assuming as its a marina the towpath would be gravel/good for getting about.

They are grass ans hard going so not really much use to get other areas

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for the lovely feedback! We're really pleased you enjoyed the campsite, clean facilities, and the marina café — and great to hear the band was a nice touch too. We appreciate the suggestion about adding a squeegee in the wet rooms; its something we are already working on. Thanks also for the note about the towpath — we’ll look at ways to make this clearer for future guests. Hope to welcome you back soon!

Local attractions

Aqueduct Marina and Caravan Park's Cheshire location and easy access from the M6 means it's in a most handy spot to get to heaps of tourist attractions around this part of the north west and Chester. A popular option in the area is Oulton Park, the racing track in the little village of Budworth that bills itself as the most picturesque track in all the land, or you could hike around the wilds of nearby Delamere Forest, or stick to lazy days and potter around small Cheshire villages like Tattenhall and Tarporley. Chester is also easily accessible from the caravan park and has heaps to see among its old streets and swish shops. Animal fans make their way to Chester Zoo on the outskirts of the city to see as many as possible of its 12,000+ animals and over 400 species; if nature is your animalish thing, also get along to the Blue Planet Aquarium and its 100 or so living displays including the biggest school of sharks in Europe. Green fingered? Clear the car boot and drive over to Bridgemere, one of the biggest garden centres in the world and with all things gardenlike as well as toys and clothes in its mammoth shopping centre.
