Chasing a bit of West Yorkshire peace and quiet, but still wanting lots to do? Riverside Glamping and Caravan Park is a clever spot to consider, as it’s in a peaceful hillside spot on the edge of Ripponden, yet still near sports fields, walking routes and cycling trails – and Leeds and Manchester are both under an hour’s drive away if you’re craving some big-city action (or looking for a quick escape from such). Tucked among the woodland and meadows, well-maintained modern facilities at the site include a communal shower block, washing-up facilities and waste disposal. You can also deal with any dirty clothes at the launderette (five minutes’ walk). Chores sorted, there's all sorts of stuff to do right next door. Play tennis and bowls, and give kids the chance to kick a ball around Mill Fold Park and Playground or watch them practise their moves at the skatepark. Ripponden (five minutes’ walk) is the springboard to walking and mountain-biking routes, and there’s coarse and fly fishing on the River Ryburn for anglers. The village is also well endowed with local supermarkets, a farm shop and a choice of Indian takeaways, pizzerias and homely pubs. Dogs are very welcome at Riverside, by the way, but please clean up after them. This is a quiet site, so you'll also be asked to keep noise levels to a minimum after 10pm.

Liked Don’t be disheartened when you first approach this site, the road in is very deceiving - feels like you are entering a car park! It is a small campsite but extremely well run. The toilet / shower block is small, but adequately sized for the size of the site - and clean and well sized inside. The stella quality is the location, some beautiful walks down the riverside that our mutts loved. Quick walk into the town and everything you need is there and more! Very peaceful site, in the mornings you can hear the river flowing and the birds chirping.

Disliked No wi-fi (but not advertised so cannot complain!) - phone signal was good enough for wi fi. Did not want to leave at all!

Disliked Our pitch was right in front of someone else, bit too close for our liking.

Camping pod (adults only, double)

Liked It is very rare we visit a site more then once but this is our second stay here now and already planning our third visit!

It is a small, quiet site ideal for peaceful breaks away. Ripponden is within easy walking distance as is the local playground and playing field (ideal for dogs and young children) Riverside walks direct from site as well.

The pods and facilities are keep clean and the site has all basic eminities you'd need.


Absolutely no issues with this site and the owners are super friendly but leave you too your holiday.

Liked A lovely peaceful and relaxing site, the owner and his family were very friendly, welcoming and extremely accommodating.
The site is well maintained, the pitch was level and the hook up and water were very close to the pitch.
The site has immaculately clean showers and toilets and it’s perfectly located for all local amenities and some quaint little pubs.
We will definitely use this little gem of a site again.
