The campsite
Camping field surrounded by greenery

  • Pop-up family campsite with countryside views in South Yorkshire
  • Peak District National Park five minutes’ drive; Sheffield 20 minutes
  • Grass pitches at Sheffield Tigers RUFC; space for kids' pup tents
Sports-mad families can jump at the chance to camp at South Yorkshire’s Sheffield Tigers Rugby Union Football Club ground on the outskirts of Sheffield. Pitches are on a level meadow with views towards the Peak District National Park, and there’s plenty of space for pup tents if the kids need a bit of extra room. This leafy pop-up site is springboard to hiking, cycling or climbing expeditions in the spectacular Peak District (five minutes’ drive), but if you prefer your camping holiday with a more urban vibe, turn north and head into Sheffield city centre (20 minutes) for department stores, ambles in the Winter Garden, museums, cinemas and theatre. Changing rooms and shower facilities are also available, and there’s ample space for car parking too.

Liked Okay. But no one to receive you or show you where the toilet or shower was! Was there a shower? Don't ask me.

Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked It was an easy process booking, field looked pleasant enough to camp on, if it were not for the beer festival.

Disliked Had this booked as a stop over for the Bank Holiday weekend with my children, partner and dogs. However, we did not actually stay because when we arrived we were met with signs for a beer festival on site. Had I known this prior I would not have booked and wasted £80. We knew we would not be comfortable staying so opted to book and stay at an alternative location.
Had it not been for the beer festival we would have happily stayed, I feel like this should have been disclosed during the booking process.

Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked Fantastic price for a site close to so many lovely walks and places to visit. Flat pitches with plenty of space and nice and quiet. Useful facilities available, great transport links, wonderful views. Always look out for the beer festival (August Bank Holiday weekend). Great friendly staff.

Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked Convient for cycling event

Disliked It’s a rugby club not a campsite. At 8am a very inconsiderate grounds man for the club decided to start driving a tractor up and down the camping field, right next to the tents. If the space wasn’t available for camping we shouldn’t have been able to book a second night. Paying for a campsite and then being forced to get up and leave at 8am because this bloke couldn’t wait until a reasonable time of the morning to start harrowing his field was slightly frustrating.

Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked The view is beautiful. The bus connection is very good. The price is also very good.

Disliked But the facilities are...interesting. Plus only the toilets looked they had been cleaned recently. I am aware that the condition of the club house is probably due to a lack of funds. But an honest description about the slightly derelict conditions would help people to make a more informed choice, if they want to camp with you. Also the info, that the showers take a long time to get hot, would be nice. I thought there just wasn't any hot showers available. Thank you for charing your space.
