Hilltop Hangout is a pop-up wild-style campsite on the edge of Northumberland National Park. Head here for short stays in a designated dark sky area, for easy access to North East England's coast, to explore the Sandstone Way or simply to relax in a remote and rural location. This is a site that will allow you to switch off and unwind in natural surroundings. The site is surrounded by great views over Simonside and Whittingham Vale and has plenty of space between the small number of pitches permitted at any one time. The facilities at Hilltop Hangout are simple, with just a standpipe and portable toilets available. Drinking water and other essentials can be supplied on request, and secure bike storage can be organised if you sort it in advance (mention you’re interested on the booking form). Campfires and barbecues are allowed here within the designated area. Hilltop Hangout is just under a mile up the hill from the small village of Alnham, just inside the national park's borders. Getting to the larger town of Alnwick will take you approximately 25 minutes by road, while driving to the sea at Alnmouth typically takes just over half an hour.
