What customers say

Friendly, well-kept farm site with spacious, level pitches and modern facilities. Guests enjoy the peaceful rural setting, farm animals, and local exploration. Saturday pizza nights are a hit! However, nearby dog kennel noise is a recurring issue, affecting some guests' sleep.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked A wonderful little site. Will definitely be visiting in the new year. Took my two oldest for their very first trip camping and they can't wait to go again. Site was clean. Toilet facilities fantastic for such a small site. The cow shed was lovely. Recommend to anybody.

Disliked Nothing.

From the manager: Hi Karen

you feel your stay was not value for money ?
you booked a hard standing pitch all the facilities are a short walk for you plenty of hot water a laundry room, fridge and freezer to use .
would you drop me an email with what other facilities you expect for your money ? and where would you like us to move to so we are a better location ?

Powered grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked Our first time camping and was impressed with everything, some of the other campers helped us, as our tent was brand new and struggled, lent us a tent for the night. Location for our trip was perfect, just left early on the Friday to come home as we had planned to stay for the texas bbq but will be back!

Disliked Nothing, site is brilliant and anything that was wrong, no one has any control of wildlife, dogs barking or birds singing

Local attractions

Outdoor enthusiasts can look forward to fishing (five minutes), walking and cycling in the North York Moors National Park (15 minutes), rock climbing on sandstone crags at Highcliffe Nab (an hour) or sailing at Scaling Dam (40 minutes). Keen gourmets pick up treats in the delis of Malton (25 minutes) – anything from rhubarb-and-custard ice cream to macaroons and locally reared cuts of meat for the barbecue. Other pretty market towns include Helmsley (10 minutes), packed with pubs and indie shops, and Pickering (20 minutes) where you can board a vintage train for chugs across wild moorland to Whitby on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. For a taste of local history, have a wander among the romantic ruins of Rievaulx Abbey, and then see them from above at National Trust - Rievaulx Terrace (both 15 minutes). Castle Howard (20 minutes) has elegant John Vanbrugh-designed rooms fun of priceless furniture to nose around, and of course York (40 minutes) is home to a famous minister, lots of museums and cobbled medieval streets.
