Local attractions

There are museums for all tastes in North Yorkshire. The Bowes Museum (half an hour) has a huge collection of art and sculptures, as well as intricate clothes and shoes from the 17th to 20th centuries. The French château-style building is easy on the eyes, making parkland strolls a particularly fine idea too. Make your way to Beamish - The Living Museum of the North (50 minutes) to see old electric trams, a pit village and other reconstructions from 1900s life in the north of England. York may be a little further away (an hour and five minutes), but it also has lots of attractions, including the popular JORVIK Viking Centre (an hour and five minutes) and the historic Shambles. Waterfalls like the High Force Waterfall (55 minutes) and Cotter Force will make your camera roll extra pretty. If you'd also like to snap some pics of castles and country houses, try Bolton Castle (25 minutes), where Mary Queen of Scots was once imprisoned, or the Harewood House Trust (55 minutes).

Admission

Admission is only permitted after registering at reception.
At least one of the party members must be aged 20 or over.

Safety

Barbecues are permitted but must be raised off the ground and attended by an adult at all times.

Vehicles

Commercial vehicles (vehicles used for work-related purposes, carrying goods or fare-paying passengers) and sign-written vehicles are not permitted on site.

Dogs

Dogs must be kept on leashes and supervised at all times.

Safety

Firearms are not permitted.
Guests are advised to bring a good quality flashlight with them as parts of the park are unlit.

Reception

If reception is closed on arrival: please contact the number provided on your booking confirmation.

General

In the event of a complaint, please speak to reception immediately. Complaints which are not brought to the management's attention during your stay cannot be dealt with once you have left the site.

Arrivals and departures

Late arrivals must notify the park as soon as possible. Your booking will be held for 24 hours. After this period the management reserves the right to relet your unit.
No refunds/discounts for inclement weather, late arrivals or early departures.

The management reserves the right to deny access or terminate the stay of those guests whose behavior is deemed unsuitable. No refunds will be offered.
