  • Family-focused holiday park in a scenic countryside setting
  • On-site fishing lake and loads of activities to entertain the kids
  • Close to plenty to do on the East and North Yorkshire coasts
Skip to see – and stay at – this holiday park on the sandy East Yorkshire coast: it's likely you’ll love it. Skipsea Sands Holiday Park is in a scenic countryside and village setting near Driffield, but is only a couple of miles from the stretch of Yorkshire coastline between Flamborough Head to Spurn Point – with Bridlington in between – and within easy driving distance of several sandy beaches. It has its own fishing lake and lots of activities and entertainment to float any individual boat. Guests can be occupied day and night should they so wish: kids can work off energy at the adventure playground, chase a shuttlecock/football or rollerblade around the massive sports hall, before cooling off at the waterjets of the indoor pool, or going along to one of the many organised activities for all ages such as dance, football, water games and a club for the under-fives. There’s a small charge to use the sports hall and for a couple of other activities like ten-pin bowling and the intriguingly named aqua jets, but all other activities are free. Elsewhere on site, bigger guests have access to the well-equipped park gym, while all ages can pile into the Pavilion family clubhouse for drinks and snacks; there are two other bars on site, as well as The Sands diner with restaurant and takeaway. Evenings are properly covered with a range of glitzy entertainment from live music to family shows. Prefer to breeze gently through your hols rather than get involved in too much activity? A Jacuzzi, sauna and steam room are on site to bubble placidly at too, all included in your pitch fee.

Disliked: I have just returned from Skipsea sand after 5 night there was an incident whilst on site where damage was done to my caravan
I'm sorry to hear this Ian. Was this raised while you there?
yes security was called it happened on the 13th May between the hours of 1.30-2.30am, drunken couple outside caravan she smashed into the caravan 3 times as he hit her

What happened once security was called?

They escorted them back to pitch 31, security told me to take pics of caravan damage and go reception on that morning, she had dropped her phone outside the caravan went to reception on that morning handed phone over and showed pics, reception told me to contact police for damage, how can i contact them as was no longer on site at 9.00am

That was where her phone was directly under vent were she smashed into caravan 3 times

I am a regular customer of parkdean and find it unacceptable whilst on your site

I can raise it to our customer relations team and they would look into the complaint and also the other party but what gets said to that party you would have no involment with for data protection. Of course you have spoken to park who has also advised to raise it with the police for damage.

Yes as i said cannot raise issue with police as they had left site and only had bank card details of her name when handed it to reception
Yes but the police can find out that informaiton.
i stayed in caravan until they were escorted away

Please raise to your customer relations team and look into the complaint and also the other party and contact me once investigated by email or phone
Please be assured your concerns have now been raised to the relevant management teams including the Customer Relations Team and the General Manager at Skipsea Sands Holiday Park.

Legally, due to data protection we are unable to disclose confidential information about our employees or disclose what action has been taken by us. However, please be assured that we will review your comments and taken any action where required.

Once again, please accept our apologies that this has been your experience whilst staying with us.

Any claim you wish to make regarding the damages to your caravan will need to be raised by yourself to the police and your insurance company*
Did I cover all your questions today, or is there anything else I can assist you with? 😊

No thanks a good will gesture of payment off my next booking wouldn't go a miss as this was unacceptable and a very frightening experience
I understand Ian, however as this incident was out of our control and not something the company had caused, we would unfortunately not be looking at offering any goodwill on this occasion.
ok

Thank you for getting in touch with us today, you will now be directed to a short 5 question survey and when looking at the survey question 2 would just be about myself, I would appreciate a 5 as its marked the highest 😉, if I could ask you to complete this, I would be most appreciative. I would really appreciate if you could give me a 5 🙂

Liked: Nothing

Disliked: The bathroom facilities were atrocious for such a large touring section of the site. One of the two blocks were out of order for the females which meant long queues for the three showers and absolutely no toilet paper. It was booked at capacity and the toilet facilities couldn’t handle the volumes of people. Most large sites like this have purpose built toilet facility buildings, these were small cabins and way below standard.
No wifi or even internet signal on the touring pitches.

Liked: The pitch was lovely and in a good location near the play park, toilets and a short walk to the main facilities. We found the site to be quiet in the evening which was great as we had young children that needed to sleep. Would certainly return here in th future as it is in a good location to go and explore the coast.

Disliked: The only grumble we had was one of the ladies toilets blocks was closed for refurbishment which meant the only other ladies toilets were heavily used. The shower floor is wet room style and soon got very muddy from people’s shoes. There wasn’t anything available to clean the floor so make sure you wear sandals you can shower in.

Local attractions

The East and North Yorkshire coast is most visitors’ first stop, from the gannets gabbing at Flamborough Head and Bempton Cliffs to the seaside shenanigans and surfing of Scarborough. If it’s raining, take the kids to Terror Tower: its three floors’ worthy of grisly special effects should silence even the most horrifying sprog. Flit to fab Filey for five miles of beach, its funfair and the start of the Cleveland Way, and nearby Bridlington for the Bird of Prey and Animal Park and Bondville Model Village. Further along the coast, Goths and others love lovely Whitby; have fish and chips at the Magpie café after an afternoon seeing Whitby Abbey and the replica of HMS Endeavour. Inland yields loads to do too, with the North York Moors and Yorkshire Dales National Park both within driving distance; as it’s Yorkshire, you’ll find stately pads, historic houses and museums of all bents easily accessible too. A good option for a city day trip is lovely York, about an hour’s drive away.
