Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked A wonderful hidden gem, with a great choice for where to pitch up your tent: under some sacred oak trees, or in a peaceful meadow. When you say "almost wild" camping then this is what is meant with that: compostable toilets, and just one water supply to freshen up.
Very friendly owner, who made us feel very welcome, and who was eager to tell about his campsite.
It was great to go to bed under the trees and wake up with robins singing their loudest songs.
As we only stayed one night we didn't need a campfire, but for a longer I am pretty sure it would have completed the magic of staying under the oaks. Definitely a place to remember and to come back to.

Wonderful
Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked What a wonderful place. As a single mum with two children I felt very safe here, the choice of where to pitch was just brilliant. We chose a hidden spot waking up with the beautiful oak trees.
Eco friendly and sustainable. The children loved the hammock where all the kids hung out.
We saw bats on the evening and the sunsets were stunning across the field.
We were 3 min drive from Allerthorpe and went paddleboarding. And also the village Pocklington was great, charity shops and lovely shops.
Disliked Nothing.

Excellent friendly small site with wonderful hosts
Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked Neil and Cherie were so friendly, and the campsite had a real family atmosphere. We felt very relaxed and in good hands for our first trip camping with a toddler! Loos were very clean and tidy and a hot water shower was provided, along with fire pits for a charge. We had a lovely time roasting marshmallows after toddler went to bed!

From the manager: Thank you for your review and so glad that your daughter enjoyed relaxing in the hammocks! As we only have 10 pitches we feel that one warm shower is sufficient but we will provide a chair for those waiting!😉
