We had a fantastic, peaceful, fun stay at Goxhill Meadows!
Horse Landpod camping pod
Liked As a family with a four year old and a Labrador this holiday was a breath of fresh air for us. Jayne and Paul make you so welcome from the moment you arrive and it’s such a peaceful place to stay. We loved the animals, the views and the switch off from the usual digital distractions in life. The animal experience we booked for our daughter was wonderful and we really enjoyed the outdoor lifestyle, eco friendly living and cooking outdoors or in the horse box kitchen. It’s a magical place. We loved Fraisthorpe beach too and Hornsea mere, and Jayne recommended other local places but we were happy staying at the site a lot as it was so wonderful!
We loved the walks and the opportunity to help out if you want to around the site. It was also lovely to meet the volunteers, and the apprentice who works there currently Will was so friendly and welcoming to us. It’s such a happy place and you really feel like you can be yourself, however you are. My daughter and I spent lots of time reading in the kind of tack / horse room, the books were so lovely about animals, mental health and emotions. My daughter can struggle with her emotions at the moment and get completely overwhelmed by them. We felt welcomed and safe at Goxhill Meadows, it’s a trauma informed environment and so peaceful and calming.
There was a forest party on whilst we were there and we were invited to it at the next door farm, it was so much fun! Jayne gave us plenty of notice this was happening when I booked and personally we loved it - I know it won’t happen often but for us it was just fabulous.
I would highly recommend a stay here, my daughter keeps saying it’s her favourite ever holiday and she did not want to leave.
We would highly recommend the food at the cafes at Hornsea mere and the one at Fraisthorpe. We also had lovely fish and chips in Hornsea at whiteheads.
Overall the most wonderful holiday and we can’t thank Jayne and Paul enough. The perfect hosts and nicest people. We were so lucky with the weather but even more lucky to meet hosts who felt like they became friends to us all. We cannot thank you both enough.
