Pigs on the farm

  • Spacious pitches at an East Yorkshire farm, for CAMC members only
  • A 10-minute drive to Hornsea; 20 minutes to Beverley
  • Fishing lake, beach area, football pitch and petting farm on site
Country views, beach days, a fishing lake and a petting farm all in one location might seem like a lot to ask… but it’s all right here for guests at Clapham Holme Farm Certified Location. This fabulous spot is part of a non-working farm in the East Yorkshire countryside, surrounded by green farmland views and yet only about a 10-minute drive from the coast. This site is open to bookings from Caravan and Motorhome Club members only, with families and dogs both welcome. With a 10-acre touring field and just a handful of pitches, you’ll have plenty of space to set up your awning and camping chairs, put your feet up and soak up that fresh air and those views. It’s worth having a good wander around the farm at some point though – perhaps heading to the lake for some carp fishing or a paddle from the artificial beach area, or grabbing a ball for a game at the football pitch. And you’ll certainly want to spend a bit of time at the petting farm, hanging out with friendly donkeys Eeyore and Teddy and their pals (ponies, pigs, sheep and ducks among them). If you time it right you might even be able to help Liz with her daily egg collection. To see a bit more of the local countryside, set out for a walk on one of the local bridleways, or along a section of the Trans Pennine Trail, a long-distance path that’s also a handy way to get to Hornsea for a beach day or some shopping (it’s a little over an hour away on foot or 10 minutes’ drive).

Liked Very friendly hosts with a large level field for pitching. Fabulous dog walk around the site and lake with rescue farm animals to pet. Great base for travelling to the beach & Hornsea.

Disliked Not easy to walk from the site. Through the rear of the property is overgrown and the front has to navigate a busy winding road.

From the manager: We do have a bridalway to our village .
It is not our land it belongs to East Riding of Yorkshire Council and they cut it it so many times a year .It was cut the week after you left ,sorry.
If you go through the bridalway to the village and turn right we have lots of bridalways that go way into the countryside and one goes to the coast. So no need to go onto the road at the main entrance. The road is a long way from the caravan site but is ideal access to the site, no little narrow lanes.
Thank you for your comments and we hope to see you again.

Liked Liked the location, open field plenty of space. Fishing lake and petting animals great for kids

Disliked Dont think toilet or showers was cleaned the whole 4 days we was there.

No clear peg/markers for pitches, became messy as others arrived and had smaller spaces then some !

From the manager: Thank you for your review.
This is the first review we have had from pitchup as we have just joined as we was recommended to do so from our past and present caravanners so we thought we would give it a try.
We do and always have had a relaxed attitude to our caravaning and motorhome guests as we have been caravanners for 30 years and have toured England and Europe and hated the formality of some sites .
The reason we had trouble that day was that some people stayed longer as they didn't want to leave .
I can assure you the toilets and showers were cleaned by myself but we had alot of children staying and a parent left the coded door open and the children kept going in filling up beach buckets and water guns with water from the toilet block and making a mess !!
I had to put down the latch on the door to stop them a few times ,so sorry for that .
We hope to see you again at some point .
